Something that I don't really see mentioned much is our lack of ability when the ball hits the ground. So many times today the ball spilled from a contest and was immediately sharked by a Crows player without any pressure because our guys either fumbled it away, reacted too slowly or were ball watching. It just kills you, especially when you lack tall timber like we currently do.

I dont blame him. Gave them a run down of the game, including thoughts on the draftees, then the first question was asking him about his thoughts on the draftees.

Lindsay killing it in the Dees game. Looks a Del Santo prototype. Smooth mover, great skills. Again, exactly what we need.

I have real concerns Lyon is just calling all the shots down there. We are all in on his "manic" running game which doesn't work in the slightest. Many have referred to Lyon saying "Get me a runner, and I will turn them into a footballer". I reckon that sort of thinking is going to kill us. Got to get the footy and use it first ffs.

He has done nothing to fix the obvious holes on the list. It's going to take a lot to convince me Trav at 8 was not a very odd choice given that Reid, Lindsay, Trainor, Allen, all seem a far better fit to what we actually need.

Will also add that Lindsay has clearly put on significant muscle in just 4-5 months with the Dees. Looks AFL ready already.

Will take us 3 years to do that with Trav. Something seriously cooked with our approach to training.

Sorry but it is not mathematically possible that we have somehow assembled a team of 30 players incapable of building an AFL looking body.

It is 100% not a focus and hasn't been for 15+ years.

I'll give you this. The Crows have shrugged us off the ball for years. Even when the Crows have been shite.

Going pretty much every week and using my eyes for the down the ground vision that the data analyst gurus get can I ask a question. Why pretty much every club play a Quarterback against us at centre bounce? Run off the back of the square receive the flick backwards from the ruck rovers and then have time to distribute left or right. 3 goals in a row in the 3rd quarter.

Why can I see it in game? Match after match. Is our new "data analytics" revamp not seeing this? Can we get the coaches spread around the ground on game day? The shibboleth that "you didn't play AFL so you'd not understand" does my head in. I'd love 30 mins with the coaches to tell them what I saw on a dirty day from the hill at Adelaide.

I would have been stoked with Reid and Lindsay with our first two picks. Also happy with Tauru but I don't get why we picked a scrappy flanker with ordinary kicking. I'm concerned that we used pick 8 on another Ryan Byrnes/Clinton Jones

Of course bit of a worry that they were able to score one in every two times they went in but 52 for us isn't bad considering our midfield got beat .... lot more than I expected .... a proper forwardline structure would help

Yeah Trav was generally considered a chance anywhere from 8-15. We clearly value running ability above all else so we picked him over guys who have the edge on skill

As you said, we needed A grade talent. Thats why we chose players we considered the most talented with our picks, regardless of position.

Do you think defenders can't be A graders? And Trav has been with the midfield group since he walked in the doors at the club. The only people who still view him as a defender as people on here who want to be mad about an 18 year old they've never seen play a full game.
