Would get carded for saying something similar on the Port board. Very disrespectful.

Don't see how the Magpies have any more value than the Crows reserves as of next year. Just a reserves side as well now aren't they?

It was obviously a joke. Hence the "Seriously though..." In the next paragraph. Don't be so sensitive.

FFS - can we stop whinging what we would get carded on the port board for.

Stay here if it bothers you - we are much more open minded. And just better.

If it bugs you so much don't go there.

As for Janus' comment - I laughed. And nodded little given the magpies have played in that comp for over 100 years. They actually still have people who have been magpie fans for eons. And more people who hate them than are likely to hate the Crows reserves.

It's funny. It's arguably true. Get over it and ffs get over what happens on the port board vs here. YOu know what you will get on BOTH boards. Deal with it or move the **** on - I've had a gutful.

That's because going to a Magpies game actually has value, whereas your reserves are just a giveaway...like steak knives.

Seriously though, we get charged for Magpies games because some people don't want to pony up the extra dollars to go to both. And that's fair enough - but I don't think as a Club 1870 member I'm counted twice. I got two membership packs (Power and Magpies) but only one card.

In short - your membership is dearer because it includes reserve games even if you never go to one. Ours gives people the option. You can buy an upgrade to get into Magpies games though.
No our memberships are dearer because there is more demand. Port have elected to charge less for members but more for general admission to encourage membership take up

Also the more memberships they sell the more money they save on tarps

Also Ports membership prices are very deceiving compared to ours. Port's website sprouts that there will be thousands of general admission seats in the Eastern & Southern stands, but in reality they will sell most of these seats as reserved seating which is a big price jump. Which means $360/395 instead of $175. Also their prices in the top decks are more than ours. Our prices are $395 for rows A to H & theirs are are $395 rows A to P, that's where they will make extra money.

Port are not going to have too many more general admission seats than us, with the speed they are selling their memberships (about 200 a day).

Also Port have A LOT of the legends seats to sell compared to us. We have about 150 left compared to about 500 for Port. That's a lot of money at $610 each seat.

Ok, I just purchased 2 essential gold. I won't be able to attend many games from sunny alice springs, but my baby sister is over the moon. I hope to roll down for about 3 and the finals and make use of the gf guarantee. The better part of the news is that as a fully paid up member I feel I can now feel free to comment on club decisions that I disagree with. Anyway, triggys 2 closer now. Even though I despise the moron.

291 actually, according to the website. Don't know how accurate it is though, cause I did a count of the seats we have left, and all the GA sections are sold out, with 2934 seats left to sell (not including the Western side).

Port have the whole Northern end including the seated areas as general admission, and back of the top tiers of the Southern and Eastern stands as General Admission, they can't sell that as reserved seating otherwise people who have general seats would be unknowingly sitting in the reserved seats. We have no seated general admission areas.

Also you can't compare $395 with $395. The reason Port have extra seats at $395 in the upper tier is because they put all of their platinum (GF guarantee) seats together which cost $395, that's the equivalent of gold for us. We sell those same seats for $360 for silver membership, which can be upgraded to a $485 gold membership, and we sell the $395 seats as silver which can be upgraded to gold for $520. Basically their platinum members are guaranteed the best seats while we can upgrade any level of seat to gold membership. A Crows member could be paying up to $520 for a seat (& GF guarantee) Port sell for $175 and the most Port get for their platinum seats is $395.

You'd get carded for that on the port board.

Edit: You suck, spackler.

Are the general admission actually sold out or is it just that they are not available for individual purchase in the seat selector because they are reserved as a general admission area? you can still buy a general admission ticket outside of the virtual venue thing.

Despite the banter I do think its fairly smart of Port to come in at a lower price point and convert people on the fence/general public who just want to experience footy in the city, and then up the prices over the next few years as people get hooked I have a feeling they will get a lot of new supporters for this reason, we can't really do this and it looks like very few tickets will be available on a weekly basis but our club benefits from being able to sell a higher price product as the demand is already there and Port gets more people to games and make money that way.

Yeah, I forgot that you can't select where you sit in GA. So really, who knows...

I was going to post something similar but chose discretion above valor. :(

Fair enough. Honestly didn't know he was joking. Not an easy thing to pick up through text on a screen.

Just sticking up for my club. Will drop it.

Nah don't. Janus is a nuff nuff. Magpies have been made meaningless by being Power reserves but now at least we all know now who the real Port Adelaide are. They can have their 37 Premierships, but frankly who gives a rats arse.

I do realise the cost of the membership is absorbed in our membership. We are forced to "pay" but you guys have a choice. Hence I said that if we counted members like you guys did, all our 11 game members can be counted twice, hence we would be well over 60k now. My original point being that comparison of raw membership numbers across both clubs is meaningless. Even more meaningless when you look at other clubs.

Your 1870 membership is not counted twice, but if you have a Black Diamond and Magpies membership (even non ticketed) you are counted twice.

You would think Black Diamond at $695.00 would have access to your Reserves, it really is an expensive option, for little benefit. Premium seating in the part of the stadium most affected by the sun.
