As usual I am really nervous. I know based on current form we should win easily but its these type of games where for some reason we seem to lose. Lets hope that the up/down performances of the past are behind us and that we finally have consistency. In five games we have performed extremely well so we should be more confident and with every game we should be developing more confidence with Pykey and this group of players.

I do know though that we have the ability to win and win well.

Wisely or not, I'm not nervous about this game at all. I honestly think we'll smash Freo.

If we only win by a small margin (4-5 goals) I think Pyke will let the players know that level of performance is unacceptable (given how Freo are travelling). If we somehow lose, heads will roll.

You just sort of know that Freo are going to kill the contest. Once we get out then happy days. If they come out for a shootout then we will win by a heavy margin.

This might sound disrespectful to Freo but I'm more concerned about how we get ourselves up for this game after a string of blockbusters, and show the required intensity level, than the actual margin.

Under Sando this is the exact type of game we would come out soft and sluggish in, often conceding a 4 goal head start. The top sides are expert at shutting down lowly ranked sides early and not having to spend any more energy than is necessary in the second half (like us in the showdown).

They are missing their best 4-5 players. If they give us a run for their money I will be extremely disappointed. Home game, in form, few injuries against a team that is the complete opposite.

This should be an easy 5+ goal win conservatively.

It's what they do best. They'll pressure the ball carrier which in turn will probably make our efficiency drop. We need to handle the pressure in the first 15 minutes to really stand a chance.
