Not least by the Ireland selectors who didn't pick him for the opening match.
I guess he had a point to prove.

And Michael Leask looks like a pretty decent cricketer. Fair play to Mark Watt for also hanging around with him last night as well.

Don't underestimate the innings Sharif played to support Michael Leask. Scotland from what Ive seen in the T20 World Cup last year and the 50 over format look like a pretty solid batting unit and can bat deep against teams around their level.

With that loss for Ireland last night, it puts them in a precarious situation to make it to the 2023 World Cup. They will have to win their last 2 games, of which a game includes a match against Sri Lanka and at the same time hope that other results go their way to make it through.

Oman, is looking like the dark horse to make it through the group at the expense of Ireland in Group B.

Bizarre given his talents. The guy has a test 100 vs Sri Lanka and has shown promise with bat and ball in white ball cricket.

As with a lot of these teams, if they could actually get their first XI on the park they'd be really competitive. Unfortunately they get done by retirements to explore other opportunities (Coetzer, MacLeod) or to play for their counties (Davey, Wheal, Jones, Currie).

Ireland are in strife, thought at 6/120 Scotland had no chance
Think it narrows the teams likely to make it down to 3, Windies, SL & Zimbabwe although the Windies didn't look promising in their first game

From what I've seen looks like a good player, also has a World Cup double hat trick

Jeez if West Indies fail to qualify here for the World Cup it would send shockwaves around the world just like their failure to get out the qualifying groups at last years 2022 T20 World Cup.
Not qualifying in this tournament would be worse IMO. They aren't playing well at the moment though
