Hmm yeah I kinda get it. But not really lol.

Like I said, I'm on PS5 and am having a jolly old time notwithstanding its the PS4 version. Pretty much knew this would happen and bought a PS5 to play it on specifically to avoid any isues.

Maybe there's some backend reason ie. can't have a native only PS4 title show up on the PS5 store if it isn't on the other one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Think Sony just figured they can get f’ed until they fix it.
They didn't pull the game because of "quality" reasons. They pulled the game because CDPR told customers to demand refunds from Sony, without actually informing Sony. Then you get the mountain of issues that then get pushed on Sony's refund policy because a vast majority of these people had booted and played the game and Sony doesn't generally allow you to get a refund once you have booted a game up.

There's been far worse games and games put out in far worse states that have never been pulled. This is simply due to CDPR doing something without Sony permission.

Gta san andreas came out what 15 years ago?

And they had a working gang system where you would get shot if you went into the wrong area.

This game is really missing a rep system, it makes no sense that you can clap a bunch of aldecados and then just wander back into their camp to chat with panam. Same with any of the other gangs.

12 or so years on and my paladin still can't enter a goblin town in WoW. Bloodsail Buccaneer for life.

Its such a basic rpg thing having rep and rewards/consequences of the rep.

V is supposed to be some rising merc and well known, people ring her like y'all the best do this job but outside of designated npcs apparently no-one knows her.

I know people are blaming the bosses and not the devs but someone in the dev team made these shitty decisions at some point.

I agree, but given some of the more basic things that they apparently haven't gotten right, expanding "Street Cred" to be more than just a progression gate for weapons/cars/cyberware might have been beyond this dev team. Getting NPCs to consistently acknowledge that you saved them during those "Assault in Progress" encounters instead of being locked in that cowering position was apparently hard enough

That's what I don't get like yeah sure marketing over promised and management rushed the game but the devs have to wear the blame for the poor design choices. Who thought this AI was a good idea.

There is literally a main quest where you can kill a character and then later on in a side quest he is back alive to kill again.

Finished up the main story last night.
Ended up calling Panam and getting the nomads to help get into Arasaka. Was happy to see Saul get his head stomped in, he always gave me the shits. Ended up sending V back into his body which I ended up being stoked with as I thought he'd die straight away but turns out theres still some hope he'll make it after all. On top of that I get somewhat of a happy ending with Panam getting to start a new life together. 10/10 story

There are so many bad and lazy design choices, outside of the bugs. Like, it's set in 2077, they could of done anything, but still the different gangs are all clichés. Mexicans, Japanese, Chinese, off-grid Americans and even Haitians ffs.

That's not game design on cdpr's part though, that is the actual cyberpunk games from years ago.

Is suicide the dumbest quickhack in the game, instant kill and it spreads to other targets

Quickhacking in general is OP AF. Should I do another playthrough in the future I'll definitely avoid going full netrunner as my most fun was early game mixing it up between shooting and hacking. I was wiping out bases with just contagion, only tried suicide a few times.

Just finished the main quest too after putting in 74 hours according to the GOG Launcher. I still had a few side quests to do (a couple of races, a couple of fights and at least two side gigs), but thought I had been putting it off long enough.
I spent the entire day playing and just finished it off. I had a few random yellow missions around but completed all major side stories and characters, cyberpsychos etc. Finished at level 43* and 50 street cred and my save file is 56* hours.

My thoughts on my ending
Finished with Nomad ending. I didn't mind it, seems like the happy ending. But I'm assuming from that final conversation with Alt and Johnny that technically the V you have been playing as died, and an engram (copy) was constructed and placed into V's body? Not so happy then, but still. Thought it was odd that in the credits with the characters phoning in that they all acknowledged that I had left Night City, but Mitch sounded like I was still in Night City even though we all left the city together?

I was really disappointed that a lot of the side characters that I finished their stories with weren't involved in my ending. It was like they didn't matter.
I chose the same ending you did.

Yes, you have that right. V dies again soon after he/she hooks into Mikoshi. Alt says as much when you meet her the first time if you go through the right dialogue options - she needs to use Soulkiller on V before she can separate V from Johnny. As for your reading of the message from Mitch, I felt the same. It's odd that you leave NC with him, and then the message sounds like you aren't with the Aldecaldos when he left the message.

I'm kinda curious what the message from Panam is (if there is one) if you chose a male V and successfully romanced her. The one from Judy is kinda odd but makes sense given her character and what she's been through
All in all, I think I agree with most others that the story is quite good but it's let down from being a great game because of all the bugs, performance issues and poor game design (especially with things like enemy AI), and can't be called a great RPG because the story is a little too linear.

That said, its still and enjoyable game (on PC) and looks amazing most of the time, so I'd give it a solid 7.5/10

EDIT: I also just want to say how much I love the sound of the Rayfield Caliburn, especially on the canyon roads where it seems to reverberate even more
