The Xbox Series X experience has been smooth sailing. Pre-loaded the game last week, got the patch update a few days ago and just popped the disc in now and straight into it.

Unfortunately I'm not quite finished the AC Valhalla main story and will hold firm for a couple more days to knock that off first or I may never come back to it...

I envy the gamers who will pick up the patched fully next gen version with all the DLC for like $30 3 years from now.

this just hit 1 million concurrent players on Steam. This is shocking for three reasons : a) it's a single player game and b) it's a graphics intensive game c) it's a full price game. Usually the type of games that pass the 1 million threshold are F2P multiplayer games that can run on a toaster (Dota, CSGO, Fortnite)

Happened to me to, just reloaded game and was able to move on

im another one who had to delete stuff from my PS5 to download the patch. just got rid of Cold War campaign as ive already played it. have Madden, Demons souls, Playroom, Ass Creed, Both Spider-man games and Borderlands 3 on it. Sony need to hurry up with the whitelist for expansion SSD or let us store PS5 games on external drives fast.

Might of been better to just instal this right onto the external drive.

That'll probably be me. I've seen some playthroughs on YT and really don't get the hype. I'll keep following it for now and might change my mind, but no rush to play it at the moment.

Can confirm it doesn't look great but is running smoothly enough so far. The opening cinematic looked like it was about 15 fps however

Yeah I may wait for some more patches or just wait for a full PS5 experience. Will watch a playthrough of someone though to get a feel for it. Planning on going Corpo for mine so may watch another character play through.

holy shit lol.... Witcher 3 all-time peak was only 100k, earlier this year when the TV series got released

just read it's the biggest launch ever on Steam as well as the highest ever player count for a single player game

plus all retail copies are on GOG not even on Steam...

Steam looks like it wants to only download 5gb on top of the 55gb or so that I pre-loaded. It downloaded something last night too so fingers crossed that's all the patch.

The main criticisms so far seem to be from minor graphic details that I never take too much notice of, so thats a positive for me.

I'll wait another day or two to see if another patch comes up and I'll start on the weekend.

Game seems poorly optimised on PC going by a lot of people on reddit.

Can relate though. On my 2080 super running ray tracing medium, playing at 1440p im getting around 45-50fps.

One guy was saying on reddit playing at ray tracing ultra, at 1440p with his 3090 he was barely getting higher than 70fps

DLSS on obviously.
