its kinda rough in some parts. can only imagine how rough it looks on base PS4 or worse base X1.

It could of done with another delay, or better yet just cut bait with 8th gen consoles and just been PS5/XSX/PC. but the lost sales would of been too hard to turn down.

Interesting that HDR was off by default.

I'm on base X1 and it looks fine.

Have maintained for a long time now that this isn't a last gen game. Shame it wasn't delayed again.

How I miss the days when I was a kid where you'd be driven to the shop to buy a new game. You'd read the instruction manual in the car on the way home. Then you'd just put it into the console and play. Just not the same when you have to spend a whole evening installing it and downloading a patch.

Miss that heaps

I assume there are some financial/investor reasons why they didn't. They delayed it three times but all within the same year. What did this game look like in April if it's this buggy now after presumably 9 months of crunch.

Development of this game doesn't seem like it would have been fun for anyone other than maybe Keanu.

My only beef so far is I can't decide if I want film grain and chromatic aberration on or off.
What do the graphics look like on a high end PC? On PS5 it’s running smooth besides the random bugs but coming from Demons Souls, it doesn’t look very nice graphically. TLOU2 or RDR2 looked amazing.

What are your settings out of curiosity? I'm going to assume the extra perf you get from the 3090 will be offset by the 16:9 to my 3080 on 21:9. 60fps will do me fine, I don't even care for dips to 45'ish during intense moments for a game like this. As you said, it's not a twitch shooter or anything.
Everything high. Film grain, chrome aberration off, DLSS balanced and RTX on. Roughly getting between 65-80fps

I'm still on rails so will know more when I'm off the leash, but some of the outdoor scenes have been stunning, mostly due to the ray tracing with the lighting and detail. Some of the textures on interior items are a bit average which I was surprised because I was under the impression that they used majority PBR textures. Maybe that will be more noticeable when I'm outside. I also don't know what to compare it to as I haven't seen it running on anything else. Some reviewers were calling it the new Crysis and I was expecting that would be because of the sheer quality on top of the mammoth performance requirements, but so far I don't think it's quite there either. I'll reserve my judgement on that when I'm free to explore more because I did have a few brief scenes that have been stunning. Otherwise Metro Exodus is still my benchmark imo.

Not having any issues on PC. I have only 16g ram and 1070 Ti

Cool bananas, samesies. I'm going to switch DLSS from auto to balanced though out of curiosity because I'm not comfortable with DLSS on Auto as I don't know what it's actually doing and when.

Rockstar had it right.
Release 1 version on older gen, take your time and release another version on new gen
Then release a 3rd version on PC.

Sure it pisses people off but at least each game is optimised for the platform, this is a mess and I'm sure a lot of XSX/PS5 owners won't come back to it when it's properly optimised.

edit: I guess the timing for this one did hurt that strategy though, may have been their initial plan...anyway, glad I already decided to wait.

Purchased on GOG and finally got it up and running after having to install latest NVIDIA drivers.

Only up to the tutorial but on a GTX1080 and had to put it settings down to medium to get a framerate that wasn't distracting. Will fine tune later.

On the fence whether I'll wait for an updated console version.

Ok, double post. Here's some screens from early Corpo play through, I'll get some more next time I'm out at night. I made sure to snap them between dialogue to make sure I didn't break my own rules and had to infract myself. This isn't a dick swinging contest (I tried that in the character creation), but if anyone wants to upload some comparison photos on their platform to put against a high end PC to see if it's the game itself that's underwhelming or just some versions of the game. Not sure how well they can be viewed seeing as I'm on an ultrawide display. Also seems like there is a little loss of fidelity from the Steam screen shot but I think the main details are still there.

Also need to get this off my chest. The missus was having a conference meeting on the latop from the kitchen which faces my computer. I told her to direct the laptop away just in case something naughty comes up while I'm playing. When she was finished she came over and got mad. I thought it was the game. It was actually because I was farting IRL. I didn't realise because I have headphones on.

This isn't my character, but when I was editing a preset I made Trent Cotchin.

Annnd mine crashed in 10 seconds after I got behind the wheel on a car for the first time..

What glitches are people referring to in this thread? Is it platform specific?
In my first 2 hours, had some weird fast forward walking glitch when I crouched while following a story mission. A number of clipping issues including my sidekick was sitting in mid air in front of a chair. My favourite was a random car door that fell from the sky, landed on a table outside, smashed a few things and then disappeared.

So, so, so much better than this crappy console version.
