Crying reading all these threads.. there is defintely some sort of bigfooty bond and its great that all supporters can come together and show respect to someone with a passion for the game.
Im glad the pies won the holy grail before you passed and im sure you will have a helping hand in 2011 from up above.. RIP x

Re: In Memory of Didaka

Hard to describe my feelings, even my thoughts are racing at the moment bloody unfair and it is for ever... so RIP Didaka. I will never forget when I first came onto BF as a guest for quite a few years (just reading all the threads) and when I first saw the title "Didaka" I loved it. I always used to keep an eye out and then throught the tough times it was just that....real tough. Maybe, just maybe Didaka, it was just meant to be that you got in 2 Grand Finals and we didn't lose either..we won and you were here to enjoy it!!!

Re: In Memory of Didaka

I only just found out (via Nick Maxwell's site) about Didaka's passing. I've only ever been an irregualr user of Big Footy but I think anyone who's ever breezed through here has come in "contact" with Didaka.
May he rest in peace and have many a kick to kick with Pants in Heaven :'(

I'd like to think the support he received on here from Pies fans and all of BigFooty assisted him in prolonging his tragicly short life, and at the very least, provided him comfort in his battle.

RIP

Re: R.I.P Didaka

Didn't know the guy personally but I've read his posts and he is an inspiration to all who have and are going through difficult circumstances.

Its great he was able to see a premiership before his time. Hopefully we can win a few more in his honour.

Best wishes to his family and friends.

Re: R.I.P Didaka

Excellent news. If she can draw some strength from the support of BF posters then it's heartening to know. :thumbsu:
Exactly, we sometimes forget how torn those left behind must be feeling. If one of my kids were to die, I really don't know how I would hold it together. My heart goes out to his friends, and especially Emma and close family.

True. There's no need for sympathy toward Brent as he is at peace now in whatever way your beliefs allow you to think of it. It is those left behind who need kindness and understanding in their grief. I hope they find solace in the ground swell of support here.

Re: R.I.P Didaka

Just saw this thread. Didaka was a champ and a very positive person. A lot of people could learn a lot from him.

Im glad he got his premiership before his time past and i hope the club knows or finds out about Didaka and pay their respects in some way.

Didaka will not be forgotten

Re: R.I.P Didaka

Its pleasing to see all the respect people are paying to Didaka and his family. Its amazing what Big Footy can do to us. It starts out as a forum where you discuss issues about our team or even show some anger after loses to make us feel better but after a while it becomes more than that. I just hope we really beat the bombers for him.

Re: In Memory of Didaka

Sorry if I missed this somewhere but how old was he when he passed away? I didn't know about any of this as I'm also reasonably new to Big Footy but I am deeply moved but what he wrote over the time and the battle he went through.

I have had to deal with so much cancer in my life (not myself, family members) and turning 28 soon I know that it can hit me at any stage and I have been blessed to reach this age. My best mate just had a cancerous melanoma removed and he thought it was routine until the Doctor said you have 90% chance to live. He didn't realise there was that 10% chance he mightn't.

Now reading this stuff has hit me hard.

All the best to his girlfriend and his family and everyone that knew this guy. It's so great to read so many positive things about this person.

Re: R.I.P Didaka

What a terribly sad time. Condolences to your friends and family. You may be gone, but I'm quite certain you won't be forgotten. Courageous and inspirational to the end. Rest In Peace Didaka.
