May well be that they lodged/furnished financials with the VAFA and it disclosed coaching payments to a playing (2nds) coach which exceeded the $1.5k limit for reasonable expense re-imbursement.

That's the most sense I can make of it without any formal release from HQ (which will be coming through next week)

Does the VAFA prescribe this amount each year? I wouldn't mind being a playing coach down at Peninsula with all those posh beach babes hanging around.

Rumour has it that the Peninsula players have been informed that they will be relegated. Something to do with their coach deciding to play late in the 2006 season but still getting paid as a non playing coach.

the letter says only d2 so thats all i know at the moment should be a very interesting meeting 2 grades is a big drop though but maybe we deserve it after hiding payments

Confirmed on the Ammos website that they will be in D2 next year. It says the makeup of D1 will be sorted out at the AGM.

Bummer. The bustrip to Peninsula was always a favourite of the Reds. :thumbsu:

Well that's disappointing as it was good to look at the blondes down there!!
I suppose that means Prahan will be back in D1?
Anyway, should be a pretty competitive section next year, alot of bloody travelling though!!!

I hope this wasn't a case of the senior coach saying, "Gee, we have a few injuries at the moment, and I only retired last year.....I think I might pull the boots back on until we get some players back" And playing the second half of the year.

Seems a harsh penalty if that's the case, but I guess only the club really knows the exact details. Hope someone will spill over the weekend after the EGM.

I wonder why did the VAFA make the announcement about Peninsula now on their biggest weekend of the year-B & A Section Grand Final-and not on Monday after the Grand Finals?

Will most of the Peninsula players hang around in D2, cos you'd think with a full list that they would be flag favourites. Surely a much harsher penalty should be prescribed, starting the season with negative points perhaps?

To be honest, I couldn't care less now to what happens/happened to Peninsula. They cheated the system and this is what happens.

Well done to Mahoney & Florance in the D1 B & F. I didn't see Mahoney play this year, but the couple of games I saw Florance play were pretty impressive. Keem is a gun, but I think Bayles is one of the most overrated players I have ever seen.....

Announcement very soon re NOBS coaching position for next year.

Rumour has it coach Scanlon being pursuaded to fall on his sword after deplorable second half of the year and limp finals efforts.

Recently retired champ favourite to take over.

Unless Brendan "Bobby - the Spiritual Leader" Sheehan has hung up the boots, I presume the favorite to be Scanlon's replacement will be Tonkin?

my brother plays back pocket for werribee. it was awesome that they won the GF in the seniors, 2's & juniors. now that they hvae finally won a flag, they will build momentum. There has always been a huge amount of talented kids in the area but most never wanted to play at the club because it was in the wrfl. best thing they did was move to the ammos.

I flew done & watched him play a few times & they have a good mix of young players. need some stronger older bodies now they are moving up the ranks. talented young players dont get too many chances at werribee (north melbourne reserves in the VFL) these days unlike when we played back in the day.

Not Boyle but rather someone who might be a bit tired?

Either way, the players have said no more to Mr Scanlon.

If true, the first thing Scotty should do is show the boys the aftermath photos from their trip to Ballarat in 2007 (when they played a home game against Rupertswood).

One of the worst blood noses I've ever seen after a pub fracas. Apparently he has little recollection of getting whacked.

Werribee have almost been a good home and away side but seemed to never be able to go all the way in finals. It will be interesting to see how they go next year meeting a few of there old foes. One thing with Werribee is they put on a good post game.
