Who is everyone playing in their practice matches and Kruzring I've heard u may be losing some players to overseas travel any truth to the rumour.

Wouldn't matter if we lost our top 10 players from 09' A kenez is back!

One of the true greats of A grade. It will be a massive shock to his system to find how easy D1 is compared to what he is acustom to. He will have to be minded very carefully every week, that may throw a spanner in Werribees front running unaccountable game plan.

Kenez also drills them straight through the middle, so there is no chance of cheating goal umpires to capatalize...I'm looking at you Westies!

He posted this 2 weeks ago:

"Whitefriars welcomes back the mighty Aaron Kenez for season 2010!

He has been tragicly struck down by injury since 2004 and hasn't played at 100% since he was a 17 year old in A grade. After 4 seasons off as assistance coach of the 2s he is back and starting to make an impact on the track. "

obviously, just a flog looking for a bite

Disappointing. Was looking forward to seeing him dominate lowly D grade.

How's Ugly Dermie's preseason coming along? Has he got a full season left in him?

Are you in London Boris? Work?

Aquinas are officially now my smoky for the D1 flag.

In addition to the previously mention ins from OT, it seems there's a glut of players coming from the EFL (Bloods22, MARCOU, which clubs are they coming from?), and one Marcus Toovey, former leading goalkicker at East Ringwood and Old Ivanhoe, to straighten them up.

Have to say their list is looking remarkably handy now.

Noticed this yesterday. They're from 8 different clubs which I found to be a bit odd. Normally you get a few from one or 2, but 12 players from 8 clubs wasn't what I'd expected. Possibly former u/18s looking to play 19s?

Every time I view this page now, all I see up front is how to meet new Aussie Girls and all of them with big milk canisters! Is there a specific 'drought' in D1??

At Aquinas we do have a very good network where we rely on our former students and the like attracting their mates etc...the players themselves have worked their bums off in getting all these players to the club which has been fantastic. Operating 4 sides including 18s in 2010 and based on last year's results, we knew a solid recruitment drive had to be done.

Most are senior players but plenty too are new 18s and 19s coming to the club for the first time too, which is great.

BTW Scribe: always small steps. :)

Flag smokey??? What have u been smoking Scribe?? I would think the main aim for 2010 would be to help save Table Tennis some money on the petrol, hopefully he can now travel locally instead of travelling to Weribee so he can avoid watching "*******s" play!!

also just to clarify this is in reference to TT comments a few weeks ago saying he would rather travel from the east to Weribee to avoid watching "*******" teams like Whitefriars and Aquinas play!!!! Obviously this isnt meant to be about me calling Weribee that, why would i anyway, Weribee are clearly the team to beat in 2010!!!!!

Your safe now Bloods.

Just moved back to the west. I didnt mention Aquinas in that breath, it was direct quote at Kruezering, who consistently speaks about as much shit as I do & Friartucks as a consequence copped my return of serve!

Aquinas is a good spot to watch footy, as Aquinas put on a good game at home.

They didnt like the travel to werribee though!

Just following on from resident fatso we have at least 21 u/18's registering and probably a dozen u/19's, they come to us after playing their junior footy in the EFL thats why we have so many clearances from different clubs. We have picked up some good senior players as well, hoping to be more competitive this year.

Just catching up on the grade news and Aquinas have picked up some beauties, well done! Thought that they had plenty of potential from last year. Toovey & Aver in the forward line together will trouble a few defenders.
Toovey must be getting up there in age as i can remember him causing the Friars headaches many years ago.
Will get to training this week and have a look at the Friars but believe they have had strong numbers. Lot of talk about Kelly leaving and I am lead to believe that although the clearance went through that he may still play at Friars if he doesn't get a uni posting O/S later in the year.
Shaping up as a cracker of a year with Werribee, NOBS & Friars main threats from last year. Willy look to be on a roll could they be another Rupo?? Presume that BT & Monash will both be strong. Aquinas a "Smokey",good nomination Scribe.
Also notice that we've picked one up from OT, James Pedtro, what's he like Scribe?

Pedders will help you guys out with contested footy in the midfield.
24 or 25, played quite a few A and B senior games but couldn't cement a spot last season, being left on the fringe when finals rolled around.
Not blessed with footspeed, but reasonably sharp around the contest.
Probably would be in your top 12-15 players.

Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure James played one season for you guys in 2007 before transferring back to OTs. Must know a few of the guys at the club already.

Cant argue on the mental toughness, that's what lost us the 2 finals last year.

Dont know what you're on about in regards to the captain talking to wrfl club. Our captain from last year has retired from seniors and will play 2's/clubby's, and we've only lost 1 player to another local wrfl club for some good coin and he wasn't even considered for leadership last year. Everyone else from last year has been training every night. Care to put a name into the pot??

Don't know where you're getting your info from but that is severely wrong, can't see why he'd want to have anything to do with the club after the way he was treated late last year. Not an ideal way to treat a bloke who has done as much for the club as he did

From the horses mouth when he came down to training a few nights back. Is a great clubman like you've said and has been down a fair bit during the pre season to have a chat to a few of the boys. Wasn't a great way to go out being the clubman that he was, but that's what the coaching staff decided. He had a long chat with them before the prelim and thats what was sorted out. Not that i agree with what was decided but when your not a coach, what can you do. Care to elaborate where your info is comin from?

Who was the skipper last year?

How is everyone's grounds holding up at this time of the year? NOBS is in pretty ordinary condition but probably as good if not better than last year. Probably playable come round one just.

Assuming werribee, friars and mentones grounds are all a treat.
Assuming BT, SMD, Peninsula are disgraceful.

Whats Willi and Monash grounds like?
