Judging the sides coming up from D2 is fraught with danger.

Werribee were awesome last year whilst ESL were battling from the get-go.
Contrasting fortunes belie contrasting programmes with the Bees neatly integrated with a strong junior program and ESL bereft of much support in any areas quite frankly.

I'd suggest Willy should go pretty well this season (say 4th - 7th), Peninsula maybe a couple of rungs lower.

As an aside the Bees lock horns with Fitzroy this Saturday in a D1 preliminary final rematch (of sorts). The Roys list looks substantially different to 6 months ago. We're a lot younger in 2010 and we expect a solid PM hit-out against quality opposition. Hopefully the wind stays away!

Aquinas play against ESL tomorrow at Aquinas College. Our new Under 18s start it off at 830, with the 19s following then the senior teams in the afternoon. Should be a great day for the club, especially seeing all the young guys run around in the morning!! Under 18s and Under 19s have had great numbers and they look forward to a big year!! Seniors are looking to obviously improve from last yrs disappointing season and we see tomorrow as a stepping stone for this!! Just great to have footy back!!!!

Whitefriars season may have been turned on it's head!

A.Kenez, who has been been trainning the house down, had to leave the track early with a hamstring complaint. Not many clubs would have seen much of the great Kenez as he made his name in A grade (many clubs in D1 have never reached the big time like Whitefriars have).

A.Kenez's 4 year injury is the major reason for Whitefriars' fall from grace. Without him at 100% we will struggle to make our return to our rightfull place, in A grade.

When kenez left the track, it seemed asif everyone around the club dropped their head at once. I think I even heard one of the coaches say "there goes the season" as he threw the magnet board into the ground. The rest of the session just felt hollow with the loss of Kenez's spirit and endevor.

There will be a fundrasier at the club this sunday from 12, to raise money to send Kenez to Germany to recieve the best hamstring treatment availible. I encourage members of all D1 clubs to attend. A.Kenez does not forget a kind deed and will more than likely repay your club with a few kicking clinics once we have departed for a higher grade.

Willy Cy`s just thumped Therry (D2) by 11 goals.. Willy looked very sharp with a lot of new, young faces. still have quite a few to come back into the side as well.. hard to really gauge how well they will go.. not sure if Therry was at full strength? But a very pleasant day sitting on the sidelines by the seaside !!

Aquinas thumped Leo's by 16 goals today.

What was the result.

Werribee won by alot more than that, they were 10 goals+ up nearing 3 qtr time and kicked a few more in the last. No scoreboard but score was kept on the bench. as stated, played a couple of kids, and a few blokes out of position but good signs all round. Were missing a couple of key position talls as well, so good that the kids could step into those rolls and do the job.
Fitzroy completely different side from last year with only a couple of players from last years side gf playing, as well as the fact that they had only 15 or 16 in the 2's. Could be a quick trip up and down for the roys!

I made it about 10-12 goals in the Bees' favour.

Only 6 of the Roy's GF side made the trek out to Werribee, with 10 other players missing for the day and the remaining 6 (who we know have retired). Despite the lop-sided scores, it was a good hit-out for those who bothered to suit up, especially our young guys coming through, but the lack of Roy numbers in both games was disappointing.

Be fair to say Werribee and well are truly on track, whilst Fitzroy have plenty of work to do in the next month!

Always find the 65+ tit for tat disclaimers after practice matches hilarious...almost as if guys need to justify the performance of their clubs in stuff around praccy games against sides they won't even play against that year!! LOL

Do clubs not deliberately play some blokes in different positions etc etc? Makes the scoreboard redundant straight away...last I checked, praccy games are not a measure of who can be better than the other in March?? But if that's a priority for some then so be it...

Scribe, heard one of your players talking about 10-15 people moving on/leaving the club. obviously 6 retired, have you lost many & replaced any of them?

Fatso, agree wholeheartedly. These games are a bit of a waste. whilst it's good for confidence for the team and some players, these games are merely there to try players in different possies, work on setups and strategies and experiment. Great to have a big win in march, but like you said, it all counts for nothing until the season proper starts.

Scribe - never fear - the great one has returned after an off seaon working on Bear Gryls Man V Wild as an advisor and will return to BSO shortly. Just getting over a bout of Denghi fever but should be right to slot inot the guts for round 1.

Hopefully we can let by gones be by gones and work together to resotre the Roys to their rightful place in A section ( The red does not subSCRIBE to this premier A rubbish - bloody Sholly)

Roy,

You are truly insane.
How about you log on as one of your 23 other pseudonyms instead?
At least it'd be a challenge to work out who you are.
You stuffed Old Camberwell up a real treat, and now obviously have more time on your hands than ever.

Cheers and bugger off for another 12 months please. :thumbsu:

Is Williamstown's list completely different from 2 - 3 years ago or have the youngsters stayed on and developed?

Im guessing a bit of both but perhaps im wrong?

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to know if anyone knows of any teams that are struggling for numbers in the Two’s. I am not much of a Footballer just keen for a bit of a kick somewhere.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

yawn.

What were the results from Friars v Monash and BT v Peninsula games.

Monash beat Friars by 16 points at Monash.. Monash were just a bit sharper with their kicking, which gave them the slight edge.

Monash had a couple out whilst the Friars had several not playing.. Both teams have a lot of tall timber up forward...

Ruppo had a hit out with NOBS at Ballarat Saturday. They looked a very different team from last year. May take some time to gel or had plenty out. Ruppo comfortably. The ground was magnificent.
