Frase,

who is the ruckman being courted by Tempy to go and play with his mate "Sugar" Maghamez

Heard last night it was Chris Meighen.

The Rockstar's groins/back usually prevent him from much pre-season work, so his absence wasn't of much concern, as we expected him to swing by once PMs started. I don't believe he has trained at Tempy yet (as he hasn't trained anywhere yet), but we're onto it.

Would be $ad to lose a respected 2 time club B&F and foundation U19 team member to the dreaded suburban footy dollar. We'll do what we can to rekindle the love.

don't fret scribe - roy is ready to fill the breach in the ruck

I know I am only 5ft 2 but I have a huge vertical leap so should cope

slot me in round 1 and I'll do the job

Agree mate...we've lost a couple ourselves to the money-slinging scum that is Templestowe.

You're an apprentice too ;)

A mere technicality my smudgy friend.

those in the know will tell u I am a Legend in these parts. Up there with:

Brian Speaking (one of roys favourites), Scribe (used to count Roy as one of his favourites), Ammo Man, On the trott (i don't care much for purple though), Kid boga, richard Clay thorpedoes (where did he go ), Kingbrown ( sunburies finest) and a host of others.

The Roy is no apprentice my friend.

Yours in greatness

Last time i looked, Fitzroy were in C Grade. From what I'm reading, they will be back down here next season anyway, but for the meantime, could you please move your conversation to the C Grade board. I'm sick of reading about Fitzroy in the paper as it is, let alone having to put up with the verbal diahorea here too.

Sorry everyone for the annoyance.

Seriously, it's no surprise this knob jockey wouldn't know what grade Fitzroy were in for 2010. Since we parted company with Old Camberwell in 2007, he and his red-carded alter ego "overtheline" stopped annoying Fitzroy by pretending to be supporters of our club.

Strangely enough, 2 seasons later, both clubs are back in C section, sorry Premier C, and the stalking begins again. If he insists on being a d!ckhead, I'll try to ensure he does it on the C section board instead.

Geez, talk about needing to let it go. Particularly from a person mooted to be a Rep Side coach.

Think I would be very careful about pointing the relegation stick after what was on display at St Pats last week Could be a very lean year for the NOB boys. At least the Roy Boys are up there having a crack!

Yeah? What was the score? Were they totally outplayed by rupertswood?

Whitefriars beat Blackfriars over in Adelaide today, very easily in the reserves and seniors

Werribee took on Altona today, were down by about 40 points at 3 1/4 time but went on to win, good to see that the $1000.00 of dollars spent on players at Altona (Ist grade WRFL) , is competitive with D1 Amateurs.

Ruppo beat St Albans WRFL div 1 as well by 5 goals and led all day and basically were better for most of the game, (Ruppo won all games). I suppose it is an interesting topic, as we have consistently over the years knocked off paying clubs in practice matches. I have always had an enormous respect of the level of Amateur footy which has strong depth in most reserves teams as well, i still don't think neighboring leagues quite reciprocate the same level of respect to our competition, i know this is a D1 thread i just haven't let go quite yet. Good luck to all in 2010.

As good as it was to watch in the last quarter, i wouldnt read too much into that. Altona were much better than us for 3 quarters and def took their foot off in the last.

Granted, we had quite a few players missing (particulary from the back line which looked like it was straight from the reserves) but Altona's midfield dominated us for 3 quarters.

Old Mentonians beat Bullen Templestowe by 10 goals.

What were the results for the other praccy games?

NOBs have had 2 hitouts to date so far with about 33-36 players having a hitout in the senior side. Have been belted gently by both Rupertswood and Old Camberwell. Am under the impression all are confident down at NOBs of at least playing finals football with many additions and few losses to the 2009 side. With the 2010 having a much more talented midfield. Expect to see NOBs at the top 2-3 of the table all year, seniors and reserves. A more balanced/realistic side i assume will be selected for the final practice match come a fortnights time.

Old Mentone flogged by lowly Glen Eira of D2 last week then flog Bulleen Temp by 10 goals - proof practice match results are a joke and not to be bothered with.

Having said that, Banyule after finishing 3rd last year look to have the goods for a fair crack at the flag this year...

A new sane Monash voice for 2010 as Les Argen has always been a dodgy character. Did anyone play praccy games over easter and who have you got in the final praccy match? Monash had the week off after good hit outs previously with Friars & Peninsula. We are playing South Melb districts on the 10th..

What did u think of Peninsula, what was the result.Aquinas play Therry/Penola this week at Aquinas.

Peninsula looked like a good unit - moved the ball well and very handy at ground level. Who knows ins and outs in a praccy game though. I think they won by less than a kick, but very low scoring game with defences on top on Oval 2 which is a bit small.
