Plenty of talk on here considering we don't even know which teams will be playing in D3.

D3 will be exactly as it is supposed to be. Bentleigh & SMS dropping down and whichever two team came up from D4 (Apologies for not knowing off hand).

The rumours of ups & downs are not true and only relate to a team staying up in place of Peninsula.

Not sure you are right; i am pretty sure at least Old Assumption amateur football club will be entering the comp(they will be trying to base themselves at Glenferrie Oval). They wont have 13 teams in d4 , so D5 or more teams in other grades??

Alot of work in the post.

Could you answer if this statement from Kobi01 is correct or not, then I think we can make up our own minds if he is on the money

The guy forked out his own money this year too pay for certain things in our football dept, as the club couldn't afford it... Our Committee should be embarrassed by this!
Incorrect.[/quote]

Cheers

It allows us to not only know Koby01 talks shit but also indicates who this muppet is.

true or false magicman, was there not a game filmed or training filmed etc where you got up & told the players that it was paid for out of coaches pocket & blokes should appreciate it....blah blah or something similar????

Heard a strange rumour a Bentleigh Tall Forward/CHB of a strong bentleigh family from 2s and 1s has been linked.

Nice work Craig Hutchison. Where do you get all your inside info from??

The one about Big Will for captaincy completely unfounded. Back to the drawing board on that one Nikes.

Only 4 weeks until preseason. Imagine the rubbish on here by then ;)

William,
i will not be sharing my sources with you, but or ill say that im some cases they 100% on the money. The Bentleigh family man has been in talks with the head honchos down at the Postage Stamp. nothing further than that. i serously doubt a move of postcode from him. Throwing the feelers out there perhaps due to his friendship with one of the coaches.

#2: The boys in the 2s see you as a Robert Harvey type character mate. id be glad to play underneath you as im sure the rest of the boys would too. Although there are plenty of challengers to you.
Riegning capt. Chesty Bonds will be a strong show
Hutchy the junkyard dog after winning the b&f will have his tail wagging...
Roughie aswell:Dont count out the Wasp either...

Guys,

A new thread has been started for you guys at Bentleigh. Should have included underachievers into the title.

You guys have done nothing on this thread except bag each other, Past members of the club and past coaches.

How about you do something that you have never done before in the ammos and win a Premiership!!!

Still, it's pretty obvious D4 does exist down there and we'd much rather be D2 again in 2010 rather than D4.. but yes you can go lower than D3.
I'd suggest you're not planning to be D4 in 2010 either so you'd be looking onwards and upwards too??
By the way it'd be good to see the Bentleigh people back each other up here every now and then.. there seems to be enough of us on here!! You'd do it on the field in a heartbeat and same should apply here.

your kidding that soft bunch down at bentleigh, theres a reason they havent won a flag in ammos, SOFT!!!! name a couple strong solid hard nuts in the side from 08 (this should get some good replies)

Not worth replying. Season 2008 is in the past, 2009 is still to come. Let's just say there's at least 1 hard nut who spent the whole of 2008 on the sidelines injured who is ready to bash some heads in 2009. Looking forward to it!

Bentleigh boys, cut the crap - new season, new opportunities, lets find the passion again (not just the passion for the grog). Forget the rumours about who we may or may not have singed for 09, we won't need them if we play like we know we can. I'll be leading the way, just try and keep up

Hows is the milky bar kid traveling?

Looking fit?

My pic for the B&F if he gets himself fit!

Tell him his dreaming....his pigment may attract some votes but i think he is an outsider.
1s b&f preview:
1st: Scott Lawry (Robbo wont deny him this year)
2nd: Robbo will continue to shame the so called best taggers of the comp. another great year for robbie ahmat
3rd: Any Phillip Is player they play it hard down the coast. will show various pretenders how the hard ball is won.
the magoos:
1st: Hutchy desire will get the rewards over skills and flair
2nd:Benny the lid lydster: named after a christina aguilera song "Keeps getting better"
3rd: A faster, stronger, better, fitter Zibba will improve from a season where he wasn't given game time. Has phar laps heart and has ditched homers body

Good to see other clubs finally getting involved: The broadband revolution must have just been connected to the outer suburbs/semi rural.Tough suburbs dont necessarily breed tough sides.

Be thankful alot of the Bentleigh boys are supporting this thread. Or there would be nothing to talk about other than how many servos we robbed after thurs night training or who stole whos ugg boots after game days from you blokes "out west".....

Bucks01 - Scotty Lawry was an extremely hard at it player don’t think you could find many better than him at putting his body on the line. Paid the price numerous times.

Chris Clement – occasionally his temper got the better of him but when he kept that under control was extremely solid.

James Coyne is another that springs to mind – broke numerous tackles and with his fancy footwork and strong body around the far wing at Arthur Street was as tough an opponent as any for opposition sides when on his game.

Koby01- As stated previously the 'Kid' is looking good. He cut the parmas and grog from his diet and has been training with a few of the fitter guys and appears to have pulled his finger out. Casey starts in a few weeks so with some solid sessions down there Bentleigh may have found themselves a good, hard bodied, and fit wingman. That’s if he returns…you never know Casey might think they have found some gold and want to pinch him.

Agree with past comments that blokes should stop bagging each other on here. But when the forum is pretty much all one club there is not much to talk about so “playful” banter is bound to pop up. Get involved!!!

F Me! Hawthorn and Eltham move aside; we now have new top nobs : all hail red and blue

thanks for giving us something Archangel! HOORAY a comment that is not bentleigh for once.
As much as we do appear on here, it seems we are left out of the loop on the VAFA website.
I check back there regularly to see what news they have to report, I see the announcement for St John's FC's appointment for new senior coach and there are other reports of most clubs best and fairest results but never Bentleigh articles for the same type of news.
Surely it's official that we have appointed a new senior coach, as well as reserve.. and news of Robbo winning the B&F is getting old but was never reported on there either.
Anyway just thought I'd give something new to discuss. Is it as simple as we haven't given that info to the VAFA yet?
D3 news from VAFA website so far:
St Mary's Salesian announce duel coaches Aaron Bailey and Daniel Adams.
UHSVU announce Rick Watts as senior coach.
St Francis Xavier announce Joe Lenders as senior coach.
St John's announce Matt Jones as senior coach.
Plus we obviously know of Bentleigh announcing Lex Munro as senior coach.. are there any other coaching appointments out of Hawthorn, Powerhouse, Monash, Elsternwick or West Brunswick?
Thought I'd give everyone a mention seeing the word count for "Bentleigh" in this thread is at about 5000 with SMS a close 2nd with about 6 mentions.

DryBones: Elsternwick i think was reported on this feed annouced Dennis Grace as senior coach.

Bentleigh tend to not get a run due to a article entitled "Amatuer by Name, Amatuer by Nature!" being published.
Although the league was a key figure in getting the new surface for arthur st. Some clubs should try for a grant too, some of the d2 ground were pitiful to say the least.

Spot on there mate. Will be good to see how our new surface comes up in a few weeks.
Also since it's been re-done, the council see it as a priority to water and keep in good nick so that's great news.

The VAFA was sent our information yesterday and should be live soon.

Good to give the VAFA some credit 'Nikes' but not with ground upgrades. It is something that the council and state government decide on. Glen Eira for example are upgrading 1 - 2 a year with around 30 grounds to get done. We were advised by council of the upgrade and then we passed on the info to the VAFA.

Is there any other councils upgrading other clubs grounds?
