BHN and MtL is a huge game this weekend. BHN to keep their faint finals hopes alive and MtL with a tough run home are possibly the weak link in the top 5. If MtL cant get a win it faces StF, RC, AP, NB and Kew - they should be able to pen in a win against NB but if they fall in the rest they could miss out!
On current form Albert Park have got their spot as long as they dont slip up against NB, sth morn or EP. we will find out in a couple of weeks against Kew then WB just how much they have improved.
Should be a bloody interesting last 6 rounds! For mine the race is between the Mountain Men and the Centrals for the last spot in the 5.

i think what flowerpower was trying to say was that west brunswick had a horror 2007 with injuries & this was reflected in their position on the d3 ladder at seasons end. i guess theyre now making up for it with the way they are playing in d4 this year!!
but are they capable of making the step to d3 for 2009? west brunswick have a history of choking in finals & therefore wasting seasons:
2002 1st d3, 2003 3rd d2, 2004 relegated to d3, 2005 3rd d3, 2006 4th d3, 2007 relegated to d4.
i think theyll be consigned to another year of d4 football in 2009 after another fruitless finals campaign...

This is very similar to your club Stewie, No premierships at all since being in the ammos and still a MASSIVE chance to be relegated in 08. What a successful club you have been - 2 grand Finals - 2 defeats, never got higher than d2 and only by shear fluke did you stay up last year. Won't happen this year. Talk about wasted seasons
i do believe kew will return for 2009 & albert park will join them in d3 for the first time after coming home with a wet sail to play finals & make the grand final from 5th position...

ML's draw is tough, but they had a pretty easy run after the first 3 rounds to this point. I think they won 7 of the last 8 (lost to AP?). RC has won just one of the past 5 games due to playing ML, Bulleen, Kew, WB, SFX in that period. This week is a danger game for RC if they have any hopes of playing finals... Its easy to look ahead to ML, which will be a massive game, but only if we can beat EP and BHN in the next two weeks. If ML lose to AP next week then ML v RC would be the match of the season at that point. OF course I'm getting a little ahead of things... One week at a time and all that!

Rhode's wont be much of a difference. Maybe I used the word 'floggin' a bit loose. The two sides have built a little rivalry over two years and always provide a fiesty (but fare) contest. no. ive only been at bentleigh since june 2003. i found out we left the southern football league after the 1999 season & applied for entry to the vafa in 2000. i checked the finals pages on the vafa website for how weve faired & as out west put it so eloquently: "wasted seasons" since...
