There definitely is Waz, no doubt whatsoever to the plans.Whether they go ahead or not next year is the only doubt. The merged side would stay in the upper grade.
I don't believe there is any truth to the Assumption rumours any more.

I think they would struggle to get the support from the locals if they played in Kilmore. If they played out of a city venue though, they would definitely attract a few old boys.Of course its real. I needed to speak to said ACK notable and had to wait - couldn't get a word in edgeways past Crawf.
Definitely Kilmore home ground, with Sportscover as an alternate. Arden St is a new one on me - but it makes sense given their connections, and it'd be a fine ground to have a run on.
From Whereis: (From Blackburn)
South Mornington 55.7 km & 43 minutes travelling time
Kilmore 78.1 km & 1 hour 2 minutes travelling time
I'll take the Peninsula.
The whisper going around is George K (not even going to try and spell his last name) or Doc a former Saint Marys boy has take over at Swinburne. Good luck to him
Guru Out!
Long time reader first time poster on the VAFA site!
A little birdie tells me that there were some coaching changes at Nth Brunny last night, and that maybe the former coaches weren't too impressed about the club going back on handshake agreements.
Any comments??
dont no whats going on down here? both coaches asked to stay on, pre-season season start date announced at presentation night. then phone call tellin me that some guy from banyule will be coachin next year. bringin ass & ressies coach & shit loads of players.
in my time 5 years the past 2 hav been by far the best, and the improvment this year was all due to the coaches. all the players hav been callin each other everyone seems to be gettin a differant story, the only Consistent thing said is that the coaches were not reappointed at all?but we all no thats untrue, jobs were not advetised (as one committee member has openly stated the coaches were shafted), and that they had been chasin the new guy for a few years, left it late in telling joe so he couldnt get another gig in D4 for fear of lossin players.
sorry to hear brifa has handed back his life membership, but after talkin to him i can understand why he has.
sad day for North
Both coaches have total respect from all at nth brunswick , what you have to understand is that this was a decision made purely for our future .Big news....I thought the club was definately on the up after this season and seemed to have alot of respect for thier coaches. Was it ultimately the presidents choice or did it go to a board/club meeting? Either way sounds like a pretty good way to shake/devide a club and for Brifa (James I think) to hand back his life membership is shattering. You'd expect a bit more respect to be shown to a bloke that breathed Nth.Brunny. As a player I'd be contemplating playing on at a club with theese values!!! Although I'm sure the is more to it (has to be).

Both coaches have been not only good at their jobs but also great for the club and this decision was not an easy one to make.
The committee felt that the new applicant has the right credentials to take us to the next step and with some new players coming with him it is too attractive a package to knock back.
Not all players are going to agree with these decisions but the committee have had the guts to make this tough call not to reappoint Joe And James purely based on what is best for Nth Brunswick going forward.
Oak park in the Essendon dfl and Heidelberg in the Northern fl both went through the season undefeated and both didn't reappoint their respective coaches , these are tough decisions that are gut wrenching and no one gets any pleasure out of.
u can not compare north brunswick to the likes off heildberg and oak park those 2 coaches anyway didnt wantto coach on so there is a big difference for what north has done to those 2 people is a disgrace and they should be assamed and lets hope they fall flat on there face for it.
to dump the senior coach after saying PNight you have it is a joke and with the new bloke coming in saying he is bringing new players please everyone trying for a coaching roles says that other wise they wouldnt get a job and brags about how good these players are when most of the times they are duds and will be lucky to play 2nds footy, you say whatthey want to hear thats that.any in saying that how do you no players will come with him, form the what north did towards the end of the year was a huge step know they have taken a backwards step nothing against the new coach as its not his fault and for briffa the ressie coach not far off winning a flag in every year he has coached is a joke in its self i would have said to the senior coach we have a ressie coach at present we dont need one the person is never as big as the club just remember that north u have lost a great perosn in briffa
As the president of the club and the one person across the entire process, i can confirm that the entire committee as well as some senior players were involved in making this decision. As described earlier this was the toughest decision ever undertaken. The opportunity arouse after presentation night, hence the late notification. The entire committee met with, interviewed and confirmed the new appointment. You must remember that when you appoint a committee to run the club, you charge them with the responsibility to make the best decision for the future of the club. We knew that there would be various versions of the truth once the news was out, that is why we spoke to every player possible at the same time as advising the past coaches. In addition, reading these comments I'm arranging for a players meeting to be held at Allard park on Friday night at 6.30, so that anyone can ask any question that they like. These posts do nothing for either the club or the past coaches, who agreed the decision was in the best interest of the club and not personal. Briffa has been a great servant of the club, whilst Joe's last two years have been exactly what we needed, both were personally thanked and offered alternatives for the 2010 season. I urge anyone with any concerns to contact me directly to discuss the situation. Rest assured that the committee as a group has stepped up and done the hard thing to progress the club up the ranks. How can we ask the players to do the hard things if we can not make the same commitment.
Be a man and voice your dissapproval on friday night .we now hav the answer, posted on the D2 forum, RE: New Coach
Left after 4 seasons at the club (2 19's and 2 seniors). Was reappointed but resigned due to conflicting committee.
In regards to players following I would imagine that the players he brought down would follow him. Also a number of them play at Rosebank CC so it would only be natural that they would stay to play there footy there. I would envisage at least 6 players leaving (of which 2- 3 would be good senior players at North)
Rosebank cc and Nth Brunswick fc are joint clubs run by the same committee.
best man for the job, or best mate for the job?
i knew there had to be more to it.
the committee made the hard decision, the hard decision would hav been for the committee to be up front with brifa & joe instead of going behind there backs
The entire committee met with, interviewed and confirmed the new appointment.
brifa & joe should hav been given options to look else where, not hang out to dry.
so with the new players comming, im sure the club has no comcerns at lossing a number of players next year.

Hi all.
Do i or don't i post???? What a quandry!!!
For my two cents worth.
The decision has been made and it's not going to make everyone feel warm and fuzzy inside, least of all supporters of Joe and James.
I wholeheartedly agree with some of the comments made and have alot to personally thank Joe and James for as they helped me out on a personal level when the chips were down.
But as was stated in an earlier post, the Committee has been appointed to make decisions on behalf of the club, and whether you think it's right or wrong, the decision has been made and all parties have been advised.
The irate posters here aren't happy that the outgoing coaches were notified so late, but for those that are OK with the decision, the Committee acted responsibly and took every possible action to ensure that players did not leave the club.
My recommendation to all North Brunswick people is to not post on this site (hence my quandry above) with regards to this topic. Those that are unhappy with the decision won't be back next season, those that are happy with it will be and the club will still be here long after a lot of us have moved on.
I won't be there on Friday night for work reasons (although i'm trying) but i dare say that the unhappy crew won't be there either so atleast it will be a good opportunity to see the new rooms and prepare for an assault on the 2010 season.
Finally, and to use a precedent, in 1995 the Committee at North Brunswick made a tough decision and got rid of app. 10 players whose attitude was detrimental to the Club. These players were quality senior players but no good for the Club. The result: They played in 2 Grand Finals in the next 3 or 4 years!!!!
As a lover of the Club, i just hope all this mud slinging stops and we can move on to 2010 and beyond.
And unlike others posting under pseudonyms, i'll have the guts to put a name to this post.
Thanks,
Ange Sammartino.
Good passionate email Ange.
And although only going by previous posts, the sacked coaches were not detrimental to the club (as per your 1995 reference)?
You can certainly understand why some would have the jimmy ritz.
what i dont get is why is no one looking at the commitee? what have they acheived in there time in office????
we all know there are only 2 people on that commitee.
If north really wants to go forward both on and off the field they need to have a good hard look at themselves.
Very dissapointed that we finally had unity and a possible vision of hope for the future on the field only once again to be turned upside down by 2 people and a commitee of yes people!
never known a club to burn so many people
