i am an ex nbfc player from a few years back (only played a handful of games)....you were senior coach then ange. still follow the clubs results hope it all works out would be a shame to lose briffa...people like that are few and far between at footy clubs nowadays.

I totally agree and i really don't think that we will totally lose Briffa. He has a lot of mates at the club and i think he'll still be around, although he will also be able to go and watch his daughters b/f play up Whittlesea way and his nephew is at the Knights. he may even welcome the break.

Hey Ange, who's the new Senior coach? What are his credentials?

I actually don't know much about him (as far as footy is concerned). I haven't been on the Committee for a couple of years so wasn't privy to the process that was undertaken.

I've learnt more about him from what i've read on this forum.

I just hope he's ok with this old fart still running around!!!!

word around the traps is the gryph's have landed a big fish as coach for 2010....Good luck to all down at ECR! Here's hoping they can finally win their first flag in the VAFA!!!

New Coach Announced for 2010
November 6th, 2009 It gives me great pleasure to announce our new coach for season 2010 is Richard Osborne.

Most of you would have heard of Richard as he played 283 games of VFL/AFL football. As well as representing Victoria on 7 occasions.
Richard started his VFL career in 1982 and played 11 seasons with Fitzroy before moving to the Sydney Swans for a year, Footscray for 3 years and finishing his AFL career with Collingwood in 1998. Richard is probably best known as a strong marking, leading forward kicking 574 goals through his 17 year career.

Richard has played under some of the great coaches including Ron Barassi, Alan Joyce, Robert Walls and Tony Shaw and this wealth of experience will be a fantastic addition to the Gryphons for 2010. This is an outstanding appointment and really sets up up with some massive momentum coming into the new season.

Richard is 45 years old, a great family man with 3 kids and is keen to put his passion, time and energy back into grass roots football.

There will be meeting next week to discuss the finalisation of the coaching panel. We will then communicate a date and time for a meet the coach session and advise pre-season training.

We’ve all spoken about 2010 being a huge opportunity for the Monash Gryphons to have a successful year on field. But it wont just happen. You have to get yourselves as fit as possible, and do your best to recruit and bring new players to the club. Now is a great time to start talking to mates and get them keen to be part of the success at Monash Gryphons AFC.

Richard is aware of the standard of lower level amateur football, however he has high expectations of the commitment of the playing group and the professionalism of the club. With a new president and leadership for 2010, exciting things happening off field (especially the construction of 4 new light towers) we have plenty to look forward to for season 2010.

Please join me in thanking Richard for accepting the position of senior coach of our footy club and welcoming him onboard.

Dose that mean that we will be seeing Torps from 60 out and or running snaps from the boundary Ozzie style?

Would the Gryphons now have the biggest name coach in all of the VAFA?

One of the great coaches, Tony Shaw??? If anything, that would take away from his CV.

what i dont get is why is no one looking at the commitee? what have they acheived in there time in office????
we all know there are only 2 people on that commitee.
If north really wants to go forward both on and off the field they need to have a good hard look at themselves.
Very dissapointed that we finally had unity and a possible vision of hope for the future on the field only once again to be turned upside down by 2 people and a commitee of yes people!

never known a club to burn so many people

really - who cares. i'm not sure of the point of north brunswick.

Joe D is a good coach and good bloke, i`m sure he`ll find a position. I know he has put in for a job at his old club Lower Plenty as thirds coach working with Wayne Harmes who is senior coach. Has a good chance and would be a good fit if he gets it.

best coach ive played under, and ive been round for awhile. learnt more bout footy in the last 2 year than all my footballing days. did an unbelievable job with the young guys, and will be sadly miss at Nth. i agree would be a great fit at 19s developing the young players for senior football.

Norths loss will be someone elses gain.

good luck to Joe & James in what ever they do in the future, dont judge the whole club on just a few weak people.
I know you will getting calls from players asking advice during the year where ever they decide to play.

all the best from all the players at the North Brunswick Football Club

Haha, great work rooster, luv it, must of had a bit of time on your hands. Interesting you have PCook in at 7's for the flag yet only 11's for the spoon.

So according to the VAFA, Point Cook are definate starters for D4.

Monash on the other hand is still up in the air.

Point Cook won`t even have a player cleared until February , New Coach , all brand new players ,have no Team game plan, know nothing about any of the opposition Clubs or players or grounds. So that is a really flattering price . BUT I`m sure the new Coach Daniel Fraser is up to the challenge !!:thumbsu:

Need to keep Point Cook safe either way.

Look at Rupertswood a few years back, or St Francis Xavier, or Werribee, Old Westbourne.....all huge growth areas, with huge numbers of kids already playing in junior teams....perform well straight up. Point Cook will be in C grade within 10 years.

In saying that, they could be rubbish, but surely won't be as bad as Chadstone were last year.
