Dale Thomas - staying or going?

I can't see him leaving, someone asked Swan at the luncheon I attended whether he thinks he's staying and he pretty much said he has no idea what he's going to do, he hopes he doesn't because he's a close mate at the club.

I don't think he'll leave either but I think there are many who would want him gone if he's asking for an x amount on his contract.

I wouldn't mind if we did tbh, at Daisy's best, he can definitely be one of the best players in the league. I think just on that I'd pay him top coin.

I just don't think Daisy would demand big money from another club after 2 injury prone seasons and a chronic ankle injury.

He could probably get more elsewhere, but I think he'll ultimately stay. Personally, I think he has a few awesome years left in him and realistically is still in his peak age. We just need to get his ankle right.

Problem for other clubs is he'd be too big a risk to pay big cash to.

I think his preference is to stay but he is concerned about negotiations without having been able to get any form on the table for virtually two years now.

Agree, I think he would love to stay but If a Team like Carlton offer a Huge Money Contract he would take the Money

TD, like the rest of us you have no idea what he would do. Why do you continue to make him out to be a mercenary? So far he has shown nothing but loyalty to the Pies.

Bit unfair, Daisy has made a few comments about shopping himself around for money. I don't think he is a mercenary but I can understand how others might.

TD said that if Carlton offer him more money he will go. This is a big statement. Daisy has demonstrated total committment to the club both on the field and off it. He does everything you would want from a player. He is simply trying to get himself a good deal, nothing wrong with that. I wish people would stop interpreting this as being disloyal in some way.

Thomas will stay, he just wants to stay on the best contract he can get and fair enough too.

Tend to agree. Hes perfectly entitled to kick the tyres, only problem is that he injured his ankle doing it!!!

Might have considered leaving if he gets offered a massive above market contract (who wouldnt) but that is less likely now.

Daisy's ankle is shot... Dont worry too much about him leaving.

Once another team has a chance to do a medical or check medical reports they will be scared off.

We should be more worried about Heath Shaw leaving after this season ...

Fair call but plenty of players from other clubs will come and say that they are staying first, and then mention that they will be after more money. Daisy could have been a bit more positive when hinting he'd like to stay at the pies. It helps stop nasty rumours and ill-feeling like we had last year.

I doubt that the negotiations depend on entirely how much a player brags to the media.

Maybe so. He is pretty laid back most of the time although I really enjoyed him getting into Jolly about his Fraser article. I think (and hope) that Daisy will stay a one club player.

It would be devastating to see Heater leave as has been rumoured. I am assuming though that this would require a trade?

Does Carlton really need another outside midfielder when they already have seagulls like Gibbs in their team? I just don't see him fitting their needs and if they decide to waste a big chunk of salary cap space on Daisy instead, then more power to them.

I had a similar theory to this as well, however in one other thread (can't remember where) a Carlton poster popped in and I asked him about it. He said that Carlton has hinted at intending to get another 2 best 22 players at the end of the year, ideally a KPP but they would look to best available.

Had not heard about this, that would be extremely bad! Heater is one of our best players surely we'll do everything we can to hold onto him?

A mate in the pub was saying that Heater wants to play with his brother. Seems very unlikely and is probably a case of people trying to join dots that don't exist.
