They hate next year's draft. 7 of the top 18 players apparently are academy or F/S selections, and it's no where near as strong in terms of depth.
They're still not sure whether they're going to accept the deal - but it's trending that way.
Port have been fücked over by Paul Connors and the political feud between Gold Coast and Richmond.
If we were getting Gold Coast's 23 instead of Collingwood's 36 I would almost be OK with it.

It doesn't matter how bad next year's draft is. It really doesn't matter. Trade Houston and our 2025 1st next year for a pick in the 2026 draft.
They just can't make this trade. It's horrific. We're losing Houston for pick 13 and chaff. We could just keep Houston.

So is boak retiring. It doesnt look good for the out of contract players. So port have had three players retire/delisted and Evans in. If we get lukosius, Richards and ratdump and lose Houston then we have net zero! Three players drafted plus barrett plus which of the father sons? Burgoyne, Montgomery, Francou) Port only have 5 players our of contract.

We only have if we make the trade though. We don't have to do it. Just keep Houston and trade directly with GC for Luko.
Any coach with a brain would be saying we are not in this to make Collingwood stronger. So yes.
Gold Coast are quite obviously in salary cap trouble and have found a sucker to offload his contract on.
