Saad was pick 8.
Houston is a far far better player than Saad.

If only the Suns LM Team had some backbone - unfortunately we all know they don’t.You need 13 for Houston, but that pick doesn't need to be part of the deal. Clearly nobody thinks he's worth that much on his own (your own offer demonstrates that). You're also likely to rise back up the ladder significantly next year, so your F1 isn't that valuable (it'll presumably be high teens, maybe even into the 20s).
So just make the deal straight up...13 for Noble & F1.
Otherwise we'll be trading 13 to someone else and paying for Noble with later picks. (29 maybe?)
Saad didn't have his best year in 2024 but prime Saad is just as good as Houston if not better. He is a far better defender than Houston and has been used in a lockdown role by us with his closing speed making him tough to beat. Offensively he is as damaging as anyone. We just need to get that balance right and unleash him forward a bit more in 25'Saad was pick 8.
Houston is a far far better player than Saad.
How so?Saad was pick 8.

We are fair to deal with, hence how we traded you your captain. Are you sure about that because I heard in the afl today that Carlton were offering their F1 and F2 for pick 13?
Or he has already tested the water and believes a deal can be made with both clubs. If only the Suns LM Team had some backbone - unfortunately we all know they don’t.
13 for Noble & F1 is about right.
Noble isn’t worth much & Collingwood are “very confident” of bringing Houston in according to their overly effusive list manager.
Leppitsch is dumb enough to pander to the Collingwood horde stating how confident he is, that’s going to cost him something in these trades - both to The Suns & then to Port.
Collingwoods problem is they’ll need 2 firsts to pay for Houston - if they use their F1 in the trade for 13, how will they get it done.
Haven’t they learned from the Lauchie Schultz debacle?
The Tasmanian nbl club haven’t exactly struggled getting quality players down from interstate have they. I think your massively underestimating what it means for a Tasmanian kid to be the first to play for a local club , they will have extra salary cap concessions and the afl are talking about making every Tasmanian Available as free agents as well he will be there no 1 target unless north improve massively over next couple seasons I think they will struggle to keep himYeah everyone moves back to Tassie once they experience the mainland! I reckon we'll be ok.
Change the word Cripps to Butters say and what's the difference. Port are in their window yet are trying to ship a player that may help them to try and win a flag for a kid in the draft that won'tJust because they have been transparent doesnt mean its not a questionable path to take.
Picking a kid at pick 12 over Houston while your smack bang in the window with a prime Cripps is a very questionable move.
Port are not "shipping" off Houston. They would love to keep him, it is Houston who wants to return to Victoria.Change the word Cripps to Butters say and what's the difference. According to who?It isn't just giving up the early pick, Carlton's salary cap is already bulging so bringing in another top end player will make for interesting list strategy in the coming 18 months.
He has 3 years left on contract, they CAN keep him and should as they need every good player they have to try and go past a prelim to a GF.Port are not "shipping" off Houston. They would love to keep him, it is Houston who wants to return to Victoria.
It is the new way, everyone must keep the players and their managers happy. He has 3 years left on contract, they CAN keep him and should as they need every good player they have to try and go past a prelim to a GF.
If it was Butters under contract, are we having this same conversation about Port being 'ok' for him to explore his options..doubt it
