I'd rather pay up for Richards as opposed to Noble

Much as, both aren't worth pick 13 or whatever, if GC paid that for pick 13 send them to the bin now. Literally the North/Saints deals are 10 times better

So North can trade their F1 for Pick 13 and offer that for Houston. What else are they offering to give you a better return than the 3 way proposed trade?

Norths f1 alone is better than what you have offered anyway, and North have their pick 25 too you know. They'd probably trade that with their f1

I don’t think cap space is an issue if we were going to pay Atkins $500K to play in the SANFL.

Hey I was looking forward to Ken rolling out Atkins in round 1.

We've offered Pick 13 plus Pick 29 plus Pick 36 plus Richards for Houston. North will trade their F1 for Pick 13 and offer Pick 13 and 25 for Houston?

If North's F1 is so good how come they didn't manage to get Pick 14 or Pick 9 already?

You have offered pick 13, a couple of junk picks and don't include Richards in this he's worth 50+. If he went to North it would be a f1 plus 25 as a starting point. The pick 9 trade was about giving essendon mid range points North need those for other deals (Parker, etc)

And what is North's F1 worth against Pick 13 this year? It seems like a straight swap based on every other deal.

And how is Pick 29 a junk pick and Pick 25 is not?

The difference is your pick 13 (which isn't 13 it is 17 plus with the bids) is not worth near a top 5 pick in next years draft and that's despite the perceived weaker draft, top 5 picks are still A quality.

Your offer is NOWHERE near enough. Find another first rounder, trade someone out to get one, exactly how Port did when they traded for Chad Wingard. Pies may not want to that's 100% fine but you can't blame Port for not trading a dual AA who has 4 years left for 2cents in the dollar.

You can easily trade a WA kid back to Freo for one of their picks for starters.

It’s not a full Pick 13 though. We’re providing some of the capital here by giving up an F1 to help get 13 out of the GC. From our perspective the two picks effectively cancel each other out and we’re left with a guy who hasn’t reached his potential, another guy who has played 9 games, two mid/late picks AND we have to pay Ratkins for a year.

It’s a garbage return for a player of Houston’s proven quality.

Ask GC supporters what they would trade for Norths F1. It won't be much more than Pick 13 if anything.

Your F1 is for Lukosius. If this all falls apart and Houston stays, you're probably paying that for Lukosius.

GC supporters want to take North's or St Kilda's offer for 13. It's significantly more valuable than the Pies offer it's actually not hard to realise why Port said no. Your club was trying to fleece Port and frankly why it too so long to say no says more about Port at the moment. The instructions should have been simple, find an actual top 10 pick plus another pick inside the top 25 then lets talk. If the Pies can't get that, that's on them not Port.

GC would easily trade pick 6 for that North pick if it wasn't tied to the Rioli deal.

At least they aren't forced into taking Atkins and helping you blokes get an AA player for 1/4 of the price. Lukousis is overs at a f1, but it's in the range assuming Port don't cask it next year

If GC take North's offer for 13, how is North's offer of Pick 13 and 25 for Houston that different to the current 3 way where Port get Pick 13, 29 and 36 for Houston?

Port doesn't care what GC get for Pick 13. They care what they get for Houston.

13 for Saints F1/F2

7 + 13 for 2

7 + 25 for Houston

North
Lose: 2, 25
Gain: Houston, 13

Saints
Lose: F1, F2, 7
Gain: 2

Suns
Lose: 13
Gain: Saints F1, F2

Port
Lose: Houston
Gain: 7 + 25

Saints probably give up too much but 13 is in a bidding war

Exactly and what they are getting for Houston is NOT ENOUGH. You are trying to rob them blind in this deal. There has to be another first round selection in there.

Look at the Hawks trade with Port for Chad Wingard in 2020 as a prototype. They traded their first round selection PLUS Ryan Burton (promising young kid at the time went well in all the young awards). Houston is worth more as he doesn't come with injury concerns. So where is the youngster you are trading, all you have done is tried to fleece GC for 13 to trade onto Port, that's it.

It needs to be on par with the Dan Rioli trade and Port are negligent if they don't get that.

If it were that straightforward then it wouldn’t need to be part of the Houston deal to begin with.
I agree. There's obviously incentives for all 3 parties to tie the deal together. And it probably means GC need to come to the table more if they're effectively getting F1 for Lukosius out of the deal.
