I have been seeing some snippets of Daniel Kerr possibly wanting to go to Melbourne at year's end (albeit most of these rumours being on BF;)). Just wondering where this has come from, which clubs would be interested, and what they would have to give up?

Also does anyone think that his value will be diminished because of his disciplinary issues on and off the field?

Thanks

Its just a case of the media shit stirring.

They think that Kerr will leave because Judd did. Of course over looking the fact Kerr is contracted until next year and has stated publicly many times he wants to stay an eagle for good.

These rumours may be very true.
I've even heard it around the Carlton Footy Club!!
And Carlton will give up Grigg, draft pick and players will take pay cuts..
Daniel Kerr = Will look great in the Navy BLue

YEah - I'm sure Judd would happily take a pay cut.... NOT!!

I wouldnt look into it much when a player says he wants to stay at his club, they have to play a straight bat.

Not even a big mouthed clown like aker would actually say he wants to leave before the end of the year.

If Kerr does in fact want to leave, WC might want to trade him this year while he is contracted and they can control the deal, instead of being held over a barrel like with the judd deal. Then if the deal falls through, they tried for him and he stays with the club.

"these RUMOURS MAY BE VERY TRUE"

what the ____ does that even mean, cmon...just think about it for a second.

1. they're rumours
2. they 'may be'
3. VERY true

what a load of shit.

lol. Kerr wouldn't leave. He is from WA, his family is in WA, he is not concerned about culture problems at the club (as he is the main contributor) and he is contracted until the end of 2009. Just a slow news day so the journos wanted some bs to hype. BUT, IF kerr were to leave, what would his trade value be. If the carlton idiot (those two words are inseperable) above was right and carlton made a play for kerr, there is not much they coud give us, and our probable reluctancy with trading to carlton would stop any deal from going through. Collingwood might make a play though, Nathan Brown, come on down.

I wouldn't be surprised if we traded him in line with our new "cleaner" image while he has some value and is still in contract. Just a rumour from someone I know in the media. Barnaba has stated that the club's image is a huge priority, more important than winning games it looks like so far.

But I doubt Kerr wants to leave at this stage.

True. From what i gather, the club are the ones stalling contract talks at the moment. If we give him a new contract, there should be a clause in there that a certain percentage of his wages gets docked for each week he is suspended, as we cannot afford any more brain explosions.

Less than Judd's.

But West Coast would be in a stronger position because Kerr is contracted.

So I think two first round picks would be a pretty fair place to start negotiations.

This idea that off-field issues would reduce his value is overblown.

That would be cancelled out by the fact that West Coast could choose between trading him to the highest bidder and not trading him at all. We didn't have that option with Judd. It was basically, "do a deal with Carlton - period".

We would have more wiggle room if Kerr was on the table at the end of this season. But he won't be.

How on earth are you Carlton guys going to keep all these superstars like Juddy, Fevola, Kerr etc under the salary cap in years to come?

Regardless - as Gunner said - offer up something tasty and lets see what can be done.

Possible if what I'm hearing around Adelaide is true...Apparently while Daniel Kerr was in Melbourne for the Dream Team he was involved in talks with senior officials from Richmond. Kerr wants to leave WA and Richmond is prepared to give up disgruntled veteran Joel Bowden and Richard Tambling and possibly their 1st round draft pick if required. Sounds more than a rumour to me...what do you think?

Yay, sounds awesome

Surely you're taking the piss?

Just what's going around Adelaide! I don't know what to think! You have to keep an ear out over your way.

A bit hard considering I'm in Thailand.

Plus that's a terrible deal. Neither Bowden nor Tambling would even get a game.

Besides, why would people in Adelaide have inside 'knowledge' of player talks in Melbourne, with a WA player? Sounds like complete BS to me.

Sounds very very suspiscous.

That said, if Kerr wanted out and Richmond had a top 5 pick, that deal doesn't sound totally outside the realms of possibility.
