Why does he look guilty?

We'll have to agree to (completely) disagree on that one.Douglas is the epitome of soft.
His whole first 6-7 seasons he refused to take a hit preferring to go to ground under the guise of faulty footwear.
He plays well in a winning team and does sweet eff-all when the chips are down (discounting his B+F year when the whole team sucked) and has done his entire career.
You want a picture of Mr Vanilla then this man is your poster boy.
Was an awesome player, but having micro-fracture surgery on both his knees ruined his career pretty quickly.Forgot Amare Stoudemire at Suns. Very solid at Suns, was in All-Star team in 06/07 season from memory.
Darcy Fogarty plays everything including Hunger Games and he always wins! He puts Chuck Norris to shame! So Darcy Fogarty plays NBA.......Yes???
watWonder if he chose it because OJ Simpson wore 32.
He is though, if he sucks it won’t matter what number he’s got. Just ask Menzel.
Totally agree ..... Menzel as a recycled player should never have been given the # 32I was didsapointed they gave the 32 to Menzel. He didn’t fit the mould. Should never have happened. It should be saved and only given to players who can follow the tradition of Roo and Danger. Menzel was a small forward not a bull.
I'm always amazed at the crap people make up about footballers to justify a dislike they obviously have for them. Richard Douglas has always been tough for his size, has never taken a backwards step that I have seen and has stayed loyal to this club for 12 years. He has played 220 games at a very good level and has won our B & F as well as coming runner up and being named in the preliminary all Australian squad. As far as physical courage, he starred in a game a couple of weeks after nearly being castrated, while wearing a cricket protector. I thought he was fantastic in our final against GWS, and certainly doesn't deserve to be called soft.No offence, but Jesus Christ when did Douglas become a benchmark of a good career? Long career maybe.
Will be better than Dougie wherever he ends up. Bookmark it.

Here is a list of the other pick 16's taken in the AFL draft since 2000, and tell me he doesn't deserve more recognition from his clubs so called supporters.
Rick Ladson
Steven Gillham
Jason Willoughby
Adam Pattison
Mitchell Brown
Matthew Lobbe
Ryan Schoenmakers
Jasper Pittard
Ben Jacobs
Tom Sheriden
Jackson Thurlow
Darcy Lang
Sam Durdin
Harrison Himmelberg
Tom Marshall.
Now the last couple might still have great careers, but it highlights how hit and miss drafting is, and I for one, will be very happy if Gooch manages as good a career as Dougie has had.
Shaquille O’Neal - Magic, Heat and Suns
Karl Malone - Jazz
Kevin McHale - Celtics
Charles Barkley - 76ers
Blake Griffin - Clippers (current)
Karl Anthony Towns - Timberwolves (current)
I am sure there are more.
oh noo he din't
hope the Fog can cut his way through the opposition as effectively as he did
Why?Not sure this counts.
But 32 has been an illustrious number.

Douglas clearly head and shoulders above everyone else on that listThat is a horrendous list.

No offence but Menzel shouldn't have been recruited full stop.

Just watching that video when he kicks the ball his left leg seems to stay n contact with the ground. It actually looks a little unnatural. Is that my imagination or can you see what I mean.Just think how good he'll be when we get his conditioning right in an AFL environment
Add VB and Mackay and you have the Vanilla Shakes ... have any of them ever played well in a big game .Douglas is the epitome of soft.
