Darcy Say Fev's Gone

A team comes to you say Fremantle and offer you pick 7 pick 38 and Luke McFarline for Fev, would you take it?

You get a mature Backman, an early pick and a midle range pick to pick up a bigger bodied bloke! I think Carlton have the Forward line depth to counter loosing FEV, not compleetly cover the loss as it would be MASSIVE but you have probably 3 blokes capable of kicking +40 goals a year! Hartlet, Fisher, Betts, Waite could be thrown forward again Murphy/Stevens/Judd to kick more, it could be done!

Fev is worth more than 80 goals a year for us. His is an enigma for the side. When he is up and firing our team lifts an extra 10% and you can see it. Other than 2 first round picks and perhaps another player would i entertain trading for Fev.

Fev will be the reason we get into the Grand Final FWIW

I think both Harts and Jake would have to perform above and beyond expectations for your suggestion to become reality.

And Waite would be worth a lot more than 40 goals a year as a permanent forward -last year played the vast majority of game time in defence and still kicked 28 goals from brief stints forward...

Fev is one of the guys who wins you finals.

Even I agree with that. Fev will win your lot finals/cruch games.

Provided he stays off the booze for good, and your backline gets sorted. Also might help if someone (aside from Fisher) could help carry the goal scoring load. A genuine CHF would be perfect.

But the thought of it makes me sick to my stomach to hear that fellow loyal supporters are suggesting (and agreeing with Darcy) that an outstanding goal kicker inthe entire history of the club be traded off at the end of the year

Maybe some of us loyal supporters don't believe that leopards change their spots and have been disapointed in the way he has let teamates and the club down time and time again.

As I said earlier it would have to be a deal that would be in our favour by some margin, but I'd look at it.

Couldn't disagree more. Waitey has proven over and over again that he will be much better in the back half than the front half.

There is no way we should trade the Fev. How many genuine matchwinning, sorry matchdominating, forwards are there in the league. Fev's the sort of bloke who can win you a flag.

Sorry, can't cop this.

I wish Swan didn't say if he screws up again he's sacked. Couldn't he have said "to be traded at the end of season"? I by no means want to loose Fev, but like with Ben Cousins, its a huge loss with no positives to sack stars.

Wow we're just not getting along today Thy

Aside from a Hawks game a few years back when he kicked 5 and pretty much won us the game he's looked like an inconsistent player who was unlikely to ever live up to "his potential". Has often failed to kick the goals from set shots that a genuine forward nonchalantly slots through.

At CHB he looks like AA material, putting Riewoldt on the verge of crying his eyes out and making Rocca look plain pathetic. His contribution against the Pies was arguably as important as Fev's.

I agree in that he has been fantastic at CHB, however when has he been given the forward 50 to make his own ? I think he could be equally good if given that opportunity. As you said he kicked 5 in that Hawks game and pretty much won us that game. One of the few times he was given the main role I might add also.;)

As much as I think Fev is a dill, he wears his heart on his sleeve. A GUN forward, a mercurial talent, there is none currently better.

Hopefully, he has turned the corner off the field. Even still he has 'wanted' to play for the club.

He was and has been offered great money to go else where. But his heart is here. He has just turned 27 years old. He has plenty in the tank. This club is maturing. Let him lead the way. When things have gone against us on the field, such as the Pies/Didak game, he was the man who stood up. He took on many. He drew the line in the sand.

Give the bloke the credit he deserves.......

I would hope Fev remain a 1 club player.
I think that would be the most popular view .
There is no way Fev is going to sign a contract with another club and leave his clubmates and Judd.

In theory, its a good option to get more young talent by offloading Fev, so when the likes of Gibbs is captain, we'll have that many gun players (ala Geelong).

But the thought of it makes me sick to my stomach to hear that fellow loyal supporters are suggesting (and agreeing with Darcy) that an outstanding goal kicker inthe entire history of the club be traded off at the end of the year
It's a fair point thats been raised . I don't agree but people are entitled to their opinions . Darcy is a tool !

No .

Is Johnson retiring and he wants Fev to take his spot ?
Good point , never thought of that . Sly dog !

Spot on DB . Lets just hope Fev keeps his shit together .

Because he has proven this!

Over here at Carlton, we've seen a few grand finals wins in our time. we have an informed opinion about what type of player is required to get the job done.

Carlton's focus should be how we can get the best out of Fevola, he is rare talent and unless you were getting a top four draft pick which is highly unlikely you would not consider it, if he puts his mind in the right place he can kick 70+ goals over the next three years, l would like to see how good how forward line would be without him, Hartlett, Edwards etc are not going anything brilliant in fact we actually need another quality tall forward let alone considering trading Fevola.

I fully agree with you, and they call themselves Carlton supporters.
Fev is a blue thru and thru.
I hope Fev aint reading this, or he might just want to pack his bags and leave. Then lets wait for another 5 years before the next lot of young kids we get for him develope. I really wonder about some of the things I read on here. Like the people that bag bannister. I hated pagan for never seeing the potential he had, at least Rats can. Just like he can see Carlton need Fev, straight from the horses mouth. So lets just let Rats do the coaching and us supporting our players we for a change.

Thank God you arnt our coach. Best you go sort out your team and leave Fev where he is.

Luke Darcy is a knob ...

Was a decent player for the Dogs, but he really is an twit when it comes to 'special comments', has no personality and seems 'wooden' ...
