If the people at our club think they deserve success they are kidding themselves because their efforts to date haven't earned it. Sticking with a 10 year failed coach isn't going to earn us success, sometimes you need to admit you backed the wrong horse and cut your losses.

Of course, abusing the membership and hospitality staff is not on. The players, coaches and administrators though should all expect to be pulled up if the team is not winning. Withering criticism in the face of a poor performance is not something the likes of Fos Williams, Bob McLean, Russell Ebert, John Cahill, Tim Ginever, etc. would have ever shied away from. I doubt there is any over the top abuse at all outside of the small minority which comes with the territory of being public figures.

Obviously if staff are being abused that's not on and needs to be dealt with.
But really, who's going out of their way to go into the club or phoning up to yell at public facing staff.

If he's taking about Facebook comments or boards like this then engage with the members rather than attack them on the radio.

Hey, not wanting to tell you guys how to run your club, or get rid of your coach and chairman , just a couple of quick points from an external perspective though.

When you call our club, you get a line about calls are recorded, etc, etc.
Someone might want to try and call Koch out for evidence of his alleged abuse of staff claim. Surely Port would have some recorded and/or documented verbatim, and he's not just making unsubstantiated claims based on anecdotal instances?

It is beyond baffling, as an outsider, how Hinkley fails to get any heat in the media, especially given the loathing he generates amongst his own supporter base. I would expect someone like KCornes to be excoriating him, but I get he has links through his brother back to the club. Other than Tredrea, are there any other former senior Port figures in the media over there with some clout?

There needs to be rebuttals from fans on 5AA or any other radio when Koch appears, you need to get your voices heard to counter his "everything is going to plan" statements. Light up the switchboards, use your numbers.

You also need to collate all the comments on here and send them en masse to the club, but make sure the media is aware of this as well. Mobilise your numbers, flag it through the media, and fight fire with fire.

Anyway, good luck. (For full disclosure, I'm not particularly enamoured of Port - or any other opposition AFL club - but in regards to SA the enemy of my enemy is my friend! )

We have no media representatives outside of Kane Cornes now Tredrea is off the airwaves. We have Timmy Ginevar but we are certain he's been told by the club to tone the criticism down so he's essentially toothless.

We are essentially our own voice, we have the media ie Kane Cornes telling us our expectations are unrealistic. Which by the way was a narrative he started himself post the preliminary final disaster that Ken would be gone if we didn't make the GF this year, but now doesn't agree with. So in essence we have a media personality arguing against his own point publicly, which is astounding in its stupidity. We also have Michelangelo Rucci who now writes for the football club and pushes out the narrative the club wants each and every week, so they've successfully gained control of the narrative they want out in the public domain.

Tredrea was the only one with the clout and fortitude to publicly call out Hinkley & Koch for their nonsense, but he's out of the media as it stands due to his vaccination stand which is a great shame as we need him now more then ever to carry the fight for us.

Now we have our own president attacking us, playing the victim and turning the heat on us the supporters. Which in all my years watching the AFL, EPL, NBA, NFL, cricket etc have never seen a club president or chairman go down that route. It's astounding in its stupidity and will end with Koch out the door with Ken. We've had players the past week saying support Ken or piss off basically so we are in essence getting drawn into a argument between the club, staff & players against the supporters.

Your points about mobilising the supporter base are great, but how we go about forcing change is out of my control and I'd have no understanding of how to accomplish it, even though I think it's the only way we can get this mess resolved. I'm sure there are posters on here who would have a better idea then myself on how to do it, and it's something I'm all for.

We need change from the chairman to the coach and we need it quickly as it's spiralling down a road I've never seen before.

Port supporters on the other hand have lived it our whole lives.

Try growing up a Port member in the heart of Adelaide over the last 4 decades.

I agree with your point but it's clear to me that Koch sees any dissent as opposition.

The "you're either with us or you're against us" mantra only includes the board and admin of the club, not the supporters.
To him we are on the outside.
