Thrilled for the Tiges. Needed a big mid.the Carlton Adelaide trade depends entirely on the finishing positions next year. It could blow up on either club and be a disaster, but wont know for a while.

I don't think adelaide have much to worry about.

Well this had a bit of everything.
5mins per pick was a farce, Seriously.

Sydney / WCE pick swap-- a farce too.
How it passed the "reasonableness" test to allow pick 26 to be traded fo a future 3rd rounder and then effectively swapped back is laughable. In trade week that trade in isolation wouldn't have been allowed. Clever but farcical.

Carlton-- wowee. This was the LOLs moment of 2018 so far.
They're almost a lock for a top 3 pick again in 2019......this one could be a disaster if they continue their shite form and Crows have just a reasonable year. If they have a top 8 finish year the Crows...ouch.

I reckon Carlton will kick themselves when someone comes up to them and tells them they would've traded pick ~8 for their 2019 first rounder.

Was it just SOS or what. Whoever is responsible needs to take responsibility publicly so that they can take the future praise or criticism that comes with it.

God I hope Valente is available at pick 25. Only 2 clubs in front of the Swans, and I have no idea if Adelaide or West Coast will want an inside midfielder. Ian Hill is still on the board and I imagine Adelaide and West Coast might consider him too.

lol this has potential to be the worst trade ever.

Worst case scenario

Stocker = bust
Carlton finish last
Adelaide win the flag
Adelaide draft a generational talent
Calrton get another Bokeherst

It can be half as bad as the above and still be an absolutely shit trade

First round pretty much went very much to predictions for most players, so no real surprises for me.

Carlton making that trade for Stocker was curious. Don't get me wrong he is a solid player. Carlton's midfield is near set, have two grunt players in Cripps and Stoker. Cripps, Walsh are ball magnets. Not sure where Dow sits at the moment, but as a type probably sits in between the others. Curnow offers some class. Just feel that need one more outside player/class/damaging speed type to close it off. Not sure giving up a potential 2019 top 5 pick for one in the teens this year is the best move. They must have liked and rated Stocker that much as on paper they potentially paid overs. Definitely a cheeky finger to the Tigers as no doubt Stocker was on the top of their wish list.

That could of easily been done and dusted in an hour.

Shambles.

Could've been done in ten minutes if they wanted, but I guess they wanted to be able to show highlights and interview every draftee, without talking over the top of picks going off in the background as has been the case in the past.

It was probably a good way for these boys to get their time, but it was painfully slow, absolutely.

That all may happen next year and we look like idiots, and then who knows, stocker might play in a couple of flags by the end of his career.....then is it a bad move?
