Hey guys, don't mean to butt in during a more difficult time but....

I'm sure this wasn't a last minute ditch thing, he would have let the club know and his reasons why.

The instagram comment was out of line but the bloke hasn't even left the club yet and is being potted on social media.

Last thing, if the Pies and GC eventuate a trade - legally can't Dayne decline or does he have to go? Generally curious.
Don't know the legalities but refusing to attend the copeland is a piss weak dog act.

there is no need to worry, the pies are just trying to get best trade available... eventually a trade will be done and beams will be yours, just hope we get more than pick 4

He can decline but then he looks like a dickhead considering he's stated he's going so he's closer to his father

Of course he can decline. You guys should know this as wasn't it bradshaw and henderson that refused to be traded from your club?

Not going to a best and fairest is a weak move and good on Harry for attending.

I was all for trading him because family comes first but after all this including him nominating only one club and not being open to a move to the GC. I would say GC only to him.

We are trading him to be closer with his dad are we not? GC is closer to his dad than Brisbane is. If GC want him and they are offering a fair deal, he goes to the GC. Don't care about anything else he has to say, we did our best to him and he has done nothing for us to make this easier so F him.

Ah yes, Bradshaw actually.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Hey BeamStar17 who gives a F...K the fact he didn't have the decency to come to the B&F means he does whatever we want him to or else he can play reserves for twelve months......Hope you guys come to the party or else he can sweep the floors of the training rooms for all I care!

I don't think people have really accused Dayne of lying but the fact he hasn't gone tonight murkies the waters, don't you think?
Fwiw, Daynes Dad has bowel cancer, which is one of the worst types a man can get from memory. Very high mortality rate. Details are sketchy after that. Reports vary from he's in remission, to the prognosis being bleak.
He's not lying about his Dad, but at the same time, I don't think that's the only reason he's going.

Yeah i agree and i don't think anybody has denied that fact.

Edit. However i think not going tonight has been an extremely poor act from Dayne.

I'm a bit dismayed at the character of some of the blokes who've left the Club in the past 2-3 years. Wasn't Dayne in our leadership group? Feel like with Ball, Maxwell retiring Pendles really needs some support. I hope Langdon, Moore and whoever else we bring in can develop into leaders and provide a turning point for the team and help build it into more of a group that want to play for each other with a sense of common purpose without all these party boys and cliques and celebrities and comedians and people trying to save the world and all this other stuff that proper clubs like Hawthorn and Geelong don't seem to have to put up with.
I'm tipping Sidebottom for Vice Captain. Word is he really stepped up leadership wise in the second half of the year.

Sorry Apex36 but you still go to the B&F don't you unless you are with your dad in Queensland?

My 2 cents as an opposition supporter. You don't have a strong hand - it's pick 4 now or nothing in 12 months. This is nothing you don't know. That's why he's only 'worth' pick 4. The way he's behaving I think he's more than happy to sit next year out...

Might seem strange after I was also one laughing at St Kilda when they didnt take 30 for Ball and then were left with nothing but I wrote to the club earlier this week and said that as a member they had my full support and that I would prefer to receive nothing at the end of 2015 sending him to the PSD draft than be held to ransom this year. No player is bigger than the club and other clubs dont have the right to to try to extort us over a contracted player.
May seem ridiculous as one member's thoughts may not count, or represent what others are thinking, but I was so rapt with my club that they took the time to write back and acknowledged my input and support.
Agree, we may get nothing and slide further down the ladder, but I would be a prouder member to do so than to pander to Brisbane's absurd offer.

I really hope Dayne is able to be traded for his sake, and I will take him at his word re: his father, but there needs to adequate compensation or the business side of our club needs to assess its options. Without knowing all the facts (apologies if i am out of line), his absence from the Copeland is not a good look and reflects more on Dayne than the Club and surely reinforces their desire to receive full recompense.

Its either we get well compensated for Beams now, or Brions can thank themselves for embarrassing Beams making him stick around at Collingwood for 2015.

Gold Coast are still interested in Beams and could give a much better deal, so if we decide we dont want to deal with Brisbane anymore, we could give Beams the 'its either Gold Coast Suns or you're sticking around for another season', and Beams sticking around with us for another season seems like something he really doesn't want to do.

Seeing Beams grow as a player at this club, win the Copeland and become a very good leader. Then after the trade fiasco and now not even attending the B&F when others who left in the past did (Wellingham, Dawes, Lumumba) shows what he's truly like tbh.

If Malceski falls through for the Suns and Brisbane's deal is not accepted then I expect the Suns to make a serious play. We might have to help out with some of Dayne's salary, but it might get us a better deal.

I've spoken to a few mates of mine that are Pies supporters and they are of the opinion the Beams is a top 5 Mid in the comp.

Is that how most Pies fans rate him?

Not having a crack as I think all supporters tend to rate their players higher than others.

Personally I'd probably have him around the top 20 mark and I think so would a lot of others.. I suspect this is why there is quite a bit of angst regarding what is a fair deal.

It will be pick 4 plus Aish, or GTFO.

I only rate by position personally, think it's a farce to lump ruckmen together with small forwards and the like.. I think he's a top 10 midfielder, likely occupying that 9th or 10th position. However outside of Ablett and Pendlebury I think the top midfielders are pretty much equivalent in many ways, it just depends on what you want from each player.

Adelaide have come out and said that Dangerfield will not be traded.
The dream is over.... For this year!

Adelaide has, but the man himself hasn't said his decision.
