It lets the Brions save face as it sets a bench mark to price Beams with.

So when they turn around and offer Pick 5 and Aish/Maze etc they can point to the Griffith trade as proof that they paid a fair price.

I'm already banned, lol
They'll be gun shy over there now with the development of this Ryan Griffen possible trade. They won't be happy and will be trying to spin it which ever way they can.

I'd say you enter that thread now at your own peril.

$$$ at work. What I can't understand is if an employer breaks a contract, the employee is paid out for the remaining term of the contract (as as happened with a number of coaches).
Perhaps if players break a contract, in addition to receiving compensation through the draft, maybe players should pay the club in $$$ to compensate for the work they have put into the player.

Beams is worth a lot more than Griffin. 23 year old v 28 year old.

I am over all this crap, Brisbane's management are thinking like kids at the moment. Dodoro from Essendon said it very well on Monday when he said you cant get gold by giving up peanuts.

If Beams was a Brisbane player would Brisbane accept pick 5 and 25 for him?? Not a chance in hell so why the hell should we.

Who cares? It's not like they want to discuss it with us anyway. I tried to be civil and remained civil and all I got was moron moderator attempting to display how funny/smart he thinks he is.
Not sure what you posted but the fact is I have been able to have sensible discussion there for the most part. Of course it pays to ignore the stupid posts but the same is true in reverse.

What Gregg Swann has done is promised a holiday in the Bahamas for Beams for November, only to now realise he forgot to book the flights and they're now booked out ?

It's worth looking into something as demanding trades is going to get worse, not better, as times goes by.

No doubt he is to Collingwood.
The point is though, are you/we (see avatar) prepared to play hardball, to the extent where we keep him and gain no value from him next year. I know if I was a paid up Collinwood member I would. Stuff the Brions. Don't need to make up for the sins of the past be trying to bend the Pies over. Remember the FEV.

Just got banned from the Lions board after one of their lads posted why were after experienced player for and inquiring about Aish...

My answer "Is Jack Redden a first year player is he".. = Banned. Rightio.

Then get called a troll and clown, little bit harsh. Some people abuse moderation on here.
You must have mis-read the area on the thread where it says "Leave Aish, Rocky, Redden, Hanley and Zorko trades elsewhere"

To paraphrase, I told him he missed his calling (as a comedian). He was attempting to take the piss out of me because he thought I was missing his "jokes". "Whoooosh"!

Guys if you go over there with thinly veiled trolls you're going to get banned. Pretty simple really.
It is really hard not to get in though, they are deluded.
One quoted WB for saying about Griffen - contracted and required player and alerted Collingwood supporters to the fact.
Tempted to tell them to reread press reports on Beams but refrained as don't think that they can read.

Don't waste your time on that board. They're hyper-sensitive whenever someone tries to shatter their delusion... let them be.
It wasn't even on the Brisbane board lol. It was in the Draft and Free Agency board in the Dayne Beams thread lol.

The deal won't get done and now the slim chance we could get a good deal out of GWS is stuffed with Griffin wanting to go there.

Time to move on I think, I'm over it.

If the Beams' manager hadn't said to the GCS 'This one's not for you', then I'd feel a lot more optimistic.

That is true, I think allot of them time clubs / players / managers tell us what they want us to hear and you just don't know what is going on behind closed doors.
