So, in actual fact Brisbane chose Christensen over young Beams who anxiously was hoping to be reunited with his sick family........Let me see if I read this right, Brisbane caused the deal to fail in taking Christensen.

25 on traded for Greenwood
30, 48 on traded to Geelong

So from our perspective what's different to 5, 25 for Beams is a nine pick down grade for picks 30, 48. Seems a big compromise by the 'pies.

I agree, sounds very odd to me. From our perspective if we wanted pick 5, Greenwood and Varcoe as the article suggests, you would go like this.

Varcoe Deal - Lumumba to Melbourne, Clarke to Geelong, Varcoe to Pies
Greenwood Deal - pick 25 to North for Greenwood (from Brisbane for Beams)
Pick 5 - for Beams (from Brisbane)

I'd be very surprised if we needed to add anything for Varcoe, certainly not 30 and 48.

I reckon this deal sounds like it came from Schwab's bullshitting gob.
