Longmire, being the person he is, will stay right away from the football side of things. No chance of him being a white ant.
Also, culturally, it seems that Swans management and admin have stuck to their lanes, though offered help where it was welcome (eg Harley running water at the AFLW).

Cox's empowering first address to players and staff 😍

It's early days I know, but everything I see or hear with regard to Cox is impressive.

Sure primarily words at this stage, but even spending a day reviewing the GF indicates a guy who is ready to face and address uncomfortable issues.

Speaks well and clearly has a philosophy and an identity he want to impose on the club/team/players.

Gives me confidence for the future and that we are in good hands.

He's ready. :)

He might not have had the job but he's been thinking about this for quite a long time. I seriously doubt there was anyone out there better prepared to take over this role.
Interesting that he puts the club ahead of the team. I wonder how that might play out IRL.

I know actions speak louder than words, so if his actions match his words, we are in for a hell of a ride!
I love the club, team, player mantra - that was one of the things I felt Longmire had let slip.

I also love the fact he isn't shying away from what happened on GF day, learning lessons is so important in order to move on

Trialing Mc Cartin at FF and Mc Donald at CHB I like. Not happy with the current set up of Mc Donald,Amartey and McLean.

Somehow I doubt McCartin is playing there more likely that it's just until players return.

Agree the setup is wrong though, one too many talls- get a small/medium in there

An example that comes to mind might be signing off on trading out a loved or valued player (even if it comes as a short-term loss for the team on-field). How you handle a Luke Parker type situation could be relevant.

I've been saying it for years now, that McCartin isn't a defender. But what suddenly makes him a capable forward in this competition?
He will battle to find a spot in a good defensive Swans team.
I can see us trading him out going forward now that Cox is prepared to make such a move.
All I ask from Cox is to hold our players to account. Tom needs to earn his stripes as a forward & that can only happen in the twos. Horse has given Tom & a few other a free pass for too long now.

Luke is also one of the few players to have played in our 4 GF losses along with Ramps & Lloyd.
Great club player but did nothing top give us any edge in those important games.

McCartin was a forward once, our defence is a problem especially if you move Mc Cartin forward.Rampe,s days are numbered and I do not like them playing Blakey in a key position and Melican struggles with injuries at times. If Mc Donald stays on the forward line perhaps they should look at trialing Amartey at CHB as well.

Basically he’s said he gonna change a lot of things.

1. Resting / rotating players
2. Positional changes
3. Punish the bruise free brigade and make em earn it
4. Contested footy/ defence
5. Clearances

Now I’ve got nothing to complain about ! My time on BF is done.

I like fast players.

1. Resting / rotating players - I am making way for Gus
2. Positional changes - Gus to the mids
3. Punish the bruise free brigade and make em earn it - I'm bringing in Gus, he doesn't mind the tough stuff
4. Contested footy/ defence - I'm bringing in Gus, he knows how to lay a tackle
5. Clearances - The Sheldrick speciality, I'm DEFINITELY bringing in Gus

I've added a little extra commentary - explaining what Cox actually meant.

Remember - it was Dean Cox kicked that fateful ball that resulted in the "LEO BARRY YOU STAR!" moment.

Ergo - Cox has already had one of the most profound influences on our club in history.
It would have spoiled possibly the greatest moment in Swan's history, but before he kicked the ball, it was a blatant push in the back to Jolly.

I wonder how often, if at all, Cox was tearing his hair out at things Horse would do

I wonder at what point he considered suggesting a move or too that he apparently didn't throughout the shitty games

Something from the Mongrel.
