I must be the odd one out, I think Lyon's appointment is a good thing for the Saints. Let's be honest, they were going nowhere under Ratten.

In the 2009 regular season, saints scored 2197 points in 22 games so yeah round that to 100 points a game

Why waste their time?
There's nothing worse than applying for a job when you know they've already selected someone.
St Kilda isn't the Public Service.
They're not obliged to hold sham selection procedures.

I would be filthy if Saints was my club, the President has no idea or board just went in with blinkers on Ross, did they have short-list of candidates, and did they interview them and go through a process atleast was handled like Mickey mouse.

It's not a public service; it's about doing your due diligence on the appointment as a club. I've never seen a club appoint a coach without interviewing all possibilities unless there is a top-notch coach head hunted from another club. Your president, up to now, has failed and not even released the findings of the review.

I agree with you. I had them tipped for a big slide next year but with Lyon I think they are a sneaky chance for the eight.

Going to be god awful to watch though.

Well you could put dockers, saints and sun's under the same category as all have had not much success in the last 15-20 years.

Given the choice... You get 2 options.....

1. With a limited squad. Play an exciting Brand of footy but finish 9th-14th every year.

2. Play a dour brand of footy and finish between 5th to 8th. Possibly win a final.

No doubt saints decide on option 2 and I don't blame them. I would too if my team Is on that same position

The sad thing was Both Saints vs North game were more dour and more defensive and low scoring than a typical ross lyon game. lol
