I have an Ablett Senior career highlights DVD and at one point must have been late 80s or early 90s the centre square of the MCG was 100% mud and they just dumped sawdust on it and played on.

I don't believe he was blaming the performance on the conditions I think he was pointing out the skills of the game were reduced.
He was deflecting from his poor game plan.

Maybe, maybe not. He has somehow won ten games with his three starting key forwards playing 7 games in total. Must have some idea.
Won't be a match for the Dees though in finals, how do you rate Goodman as a coach?

He literally said we played poorly in the press conference. Why would he bother deflecting the media have been bagging us non stop for the past month of course he would know what's coming after beating North by a goal.
The reaction to his comments are hilarious. If it were McRae saying it there'd be calls for a royal commission. Just proves his point really.
