So he's on track for 36 goals for the season when he's not getting Joe the Goose goals, has only played 1 good game and the team in general is struggling.

I think most clubs would take that from a player. 35 goals last season puts you in the top 25 goal kickers in the comp. Meanwhile Charlie Dixon has kicked 7 goals for the year.

Why you ignore contract?

Have you ever watched Tom Lynch?

There is a reason he’s getting million dollar offers and JJ is on the fringes of the team
On the fringes of the team? JJ has been selected in the team every game he’s been available for the last 4 years. The only exception to this is when he had a rib injury last year and the coaches brought him back in a couple of weeks before he was actually over the injury.

JJ has never shown much ability to play well while carrying an injury, so I’m not sure why the coaches thought that was a good idea.

The strange thing about this argument is that I seemed to have somehow ended up filling the role of JJ fanboy, when I just think he’s a solid player that is fulfilling his role in the team. I’m starting to wonder how the heck I got here!

Yes, a 5 year contract is 1-2 years longer than what I would have offered. Is a contract value of $500k-odd per year too high?

If the Crows payment structure for the team is roughly in line with the AFL, then JJ would have been somewhere around the 7th-10th highest paid player at the Crows last season. That’s roughly in line with his position in the team at the moment (he’s finished in the top 10 th in the B&F twice in the last 4 years).

As the AFL salary cap grows across the next 4 years he’ll drop even lower on the highest paid list. Is that slightly overs for his output? Probably, but not by a significant margin for a position that doesn’t have a large amount of potential options.

I’m not trying to suggest Jenkins will ever be a world beater. That is unlikely to happen.

What I’m saying is that your statement that his contract has a negative value is just plain wrong.

We just had a discussion trying to name a player who has had two knee recos and been at the same standard he was at when before the second and/or improved. I can't think of one. Daniel Menzel probably the best?

How'd you guys go today? This Death Riding Melbourne thread is like instant karma. Keep posting.
If you're not going to be shit and give us a nice pick, we may as well do it ourselves.

Hey hey, everybody's favorite fantasist. You still punting professionally? Back the Crows today?

Yeah I even made a fake twitter account and a fake website and fake subscribers and fake bet slips and have been faking things for years. I remember inviting you (free of charge) into my private twitter feed where I give tips to subscribers so you could see my picks but you declined but instead post that I’m a ‘fantasist’ because you just can’t face the reality that someone could make money gambling. Sorry you have to rely on Centrelink. Maybe someday you’ll make it.

Seriously who would have thought before last years grand final, that we would end up lower in 2018 than Melbourne and that Melbourne would be not only a top 4 contender but premiership threat.

In any case, September is different. Melbourne will get owned for not having finals experienced bodies.

So you ask this question in the Death Riding Melbourne thread? Kinda ironic.
Would be kinda ironic if this thread was on the Melbourne board...
