Would be good to see what Shuey could do if fit for all 22 rounds.

Back to the main topic - Would love Clark at Freo but I can't see it happening....maybe next year :D Keep hearing talk of Thursfield to Freo and wouldn't mind him at the right price.

could be a three way trade with Collingwood for Tarrant.

I rate shuey highly.

Guys like Hill and Selwood have been on the park and delivered in spades - so clearly they have him covered - and from a balance of odds point of view - clearly you'd take those players for shuey in a second.

Whilst Shuey doesn't have the burst of speed that Judd had - he does have significant core strength and was shrugging tackles against geelong.

Plus, for fear of bias I'll stick to my own club - he's probably the best disposer of a ball by both feet our club has had, with the exception of tommy kemp. All in all - he's the onballer I'm most excited about in our team - and would be gutted to lose him

At least with judd - we got to cheer him on for 6 years and see him deliver us a flag - to lose someone before they hopefully do that - and see them do it elsewhere would be torture!!

All credibility is lost

"Lot's of Vic clubs enquiring about Luke Shuey's availability. Expected to stay in Perth but WC could be tempted by mid/late 1st round pick"

He said "could" - that sounds like him speculating what type of deal might interest West Coast, not basing it on sources inside West Coast.

A mid-late first round pick is a reasonable price for an outsider to value Luke Shuey at given the query over his durability that exists based on the past 2 seasons and having played only 6 AFL games.

Spot on. Shuey is a superstar in the making, there is no other young mid drafted over the past 5 years I would trade him for.

This is surely a joke??????????

Tom Sculley, Jack Trengove, Dustin Martin, Anthony Morabito, Stephen Hill, Hamish Hartlett, Daniel Rich, Jack Ziebell, Steele Sidebottom, Trent Cotchin, Patrick Dangerfield, Travis Boak, Joel Selwood, Marc Murphy, Dale Thomas and Scott Pendlebury are all from the last 5 drafts.

Each of them has Shuey covered.

When Shuey plays an entire season those who have no idea on his abilities might learn to comment on things they are actually informed on.
Does "no idea on his abilities" include saying you'd take him over Selwood and Pendlebury?

Having seen only the few games of the shue - (about 8) - unless we were getting pick 1 (Swallow)- i personally wouldn't bother.

Now - i appreciate that no one is ever going to give up that much - but it's how highly i rate him. I get the same feeling with the shue that i had with judd and kerr.

Perhaps not Judd, but Shuey is the only certain A+ grade mid on the eagles list. This doesnt measure Shuey against other great young players. It does show his value to WC.

Pick 1 looks ok for a Shuey trade but Shuey is less of a risk as he is known. The trade would demand a low risk sich as Swallow

Love the Shue and think hes probably the best talent on our list, but anyone suggesting it'd need to be pick 1 for the club to have a look are having an absolute laugh.

surely the landscape would only change on shuey if he decides he wants to go back to victoria. can't see west coast letting him go otherwise.

Agree. Asking for pick 1 is an absolute joke. Even a top 10 pick is pretty questionable. There is a reason he was pick 17 and not a top 5 pick. Good young player but hasn't really shown it at senior level yet considering he has only played 6 games. Thought he was a DT golden pick this year but injuries destroyed his season.

Rance + pick 28 for Shuey. Just throwing it out there...

Spreading false rumours to entrap the competition, conducting ongoing feuds with various enemies, maintaining one's coke dealing business and flirtring with other journalists?

All of that and more!

West Coast knows Shuey is one of the few players on its list with currency, and would land it the teens pick it'd need if it were desperate to get Darling.

They would also know he's probably the midfielder on their list with the most potential so unless they're incredibly dumb he wouldn't be traded unless it was a very early pick. Shuey won't be going anywere so don't know why people are discussing it. Thought he just signed a new deal?

Clutching at straws syndrome

I heard he signed a new deal and I don't think they'll trade him either, but they'll have to if they want Darling. They don't have anyone else worthy of the top-15 pick it'll take to ensure they get Darling (who could even go to Melbourne at 12, or Gold Coast any time). So, in summation, I reckon Shuey stays and Darling goes elsewhere, probably to GC.

If we got rid of Shu with the goal of getting Darling then the club would've truly lost the plot.
