Stop being so insecure tiggers!

All four will be guns!

/thread
I agree that they will all be guns....but you cant say that tiger fans alone are being insecure.

Im comfortable in the fact that the tiger pair will be great players and you cant argue that the blues pair will be anything less.

Gibbs was quite poor on the weekend. Had very little postive influence on the game. Deledio was quiet up to half time but had a big second half. Murphy got a lot of it but his disposal wasn't great in the second half.

Overall on the weekend it would go - Murphy, Deledio, Gibbs, Cotch (Cotch didn't play but was apparently good for coburg)
Lids had a great first quarter too, played 3 very good quarters, was quiet in the 2nd.

Can't vote. No right or wrong answer.

All are/will be very good players. Gibbs has me intrigued though. I think he might be special (but so might the others ).

Still think they all look the goods. Having said that, Gibbs and Murphy have landed at a club which should provide them with a more satisfying career.

Right now Marc Murphy is playing the best out of the quartet (having said that the Cotch has been out injured)

I think it's rather like mixing apples with oranges, but i'm very happy with whom carlton have got on our list.

Why all the hype on Cotchin?

Yes he is a clean ball handler...well as a mid I bloody hope so otherwise it is a waste of a number 2 pick.

He seems to make good decisions when he has it...well as a mid I bloody hope so otherwise it is a waste of a number 2 pick.

He hasnt proven himself to be a high posession winner at this stage of his career, max of 25 I believe? (Put that in perspective, another number 2 pick - Andrew Walker had 26 in his first game).

He is quite short (Murphys size perhaps), sp perhaps limited in terms of options if not getting it in the middle. (Delidio is an example of a player with multiple options).

So, why all the hype on young Cotchin? Looks a good player, but is made out to be a superstar in the making. I would suggest the media (Greg Denham picked him pre season for the Brownlow as an example), havent done him any favours, as he has, as yet, not done anything of any significance. Will be very interesting to see if he lives up to the hype over the coming years. I personally dont think he will live up to Tiger fans expectations.

just fyi he is 185 cm and 84 kg , murphy 180 cm and 80 kg, and 2 years older , hence he was able to break murphys tackle on him last year with ease

i would rather listen to experts that know about footy when they talk about cotchin(just find what voss had to say about him)

are you one of those?

I don't know why that scenario is always brought up.
Murphy tried to lay a half-hearted tackle and didn't wrap Cotchin up at all. It was a good piece of play but hardly the 'amazing display of core strength' some would have you believe.

when youve got a guy whos done SFA and you put him up against a bloke averaging 26 touches a game, over a goal a game, 10 contested possessions, 5 tackles and 5 clearances a game you're so desperate you'll use anything, even if it means beating up something that happened a year ago that seems to not be anything out of the ordinary. they can hang their hats on that, in the meantime we'll just have to make do with murph racking up the sort of numbers as above.:(

Did you just say Cotch does SFA? Cotch's first year was better than pretty much all 4's so I wouldn't go slagging him off just cos he's injured.

In terms of this quartet, Cotchin would rate number 3 in terms of first years, ahead of Gibbs only. Murphy had the Rising Star until he was pole axed against Brisbane in round 13 of that year, and Delidio won his Rising Star.

Mate I dont care if he is 5 cm's taller than Murphy, he is still al low to the ground type player, and desnt have the versatility of Delidio and Gibbs.

And at this stage, he doesnt compare to Murphy, regardless of that one piece of evasive action. Murphy is already a star, cotchin might end up one.

Cotchin missed his first 7 rounds, of course he could not win the Rising star.

Cotchin's first year was better than Deledio's so that leaves him at least 2nd.

Murphy and Gibbs shit on Deledio and Cotchin.. I cant believe the Tiger duo are in the lead.

The poll was started before the year. At that stage Deledio was easily the best of the 4 and a brownlow fancy among many on here. Since the season has started the voting has swung majorly in the Carlton duos way, and rightfully so.

On another note Cotch is likely to play this week. We'll have to wait and see how he holds up with that achilles.

Can i take Gibbs + Cotchin of the four
NO DEAL!!!

I think Murphy and Gibbs are quality players, But Trent Cotchin is just a freak. Deledio was going good untill the start of the year when he had 2-3 bad matches, But has just started to improve his game.

By the end of the year. We'll know who the better players are.

I would have Gibbs infront at the moment.
