Hey just thought I'd post this - I went to school with Connor Blakely and played footy with him once or twice, absolute gun and right type of player for WC (not an Eagles supporter though), already playing at a good level for Swan Districts League side which is good considering plenty of our young mids are still having the odd EP reserves game.

It's a good question and tall midfielders can go either way - like Tom Swift - who had the tools to make it but never did. Maybe Langford is another Swift I don't know. There is no single attribute that stands out with Fyfe - he is a good athlete but not an elite one nor overly fast. He can find the ball and take a mark - but he developed a lot of these attributes after he was drafted. Josh Kennedy is a very average athlete but just keeps finding the ball. So I think athleticism is overrated while development, professionalism and 'want to' are severely underrated and are the biggest factors.

It goes to show that it's necessary to pick footballers > athletes.

Arguably the worst on field captain of all time, and nothing more then a vanilla sandwich with unflavoured cream on the side.

As someone rightly pointed out, he's just another Selwood. Scooter would have been chosen for the captaincy too if he was on their list.

Doesn't have any particular talent or attribute, just all round B grade. Most definitely not worth our pick 11.

We're getting Coniglio for free next year anyway..

What do you mean Masto, that he developed a lot of those attributes after he was drafted? He was always a good mark and could always find the ball. When I saw him at colts I likened him to a young Kenny Hunter (giving away my age, I know)......
