pretty sure most of that list is wrong (bolded). Not that it matters much, pretty sure the vets rule will be changed soon

Edit: looks like its changing sooner than i thought haha. However if its only 10 years service then didak and swan should be eligible immediately as Didak has completed 11 years and Swan 10 years already?

Yeah I got a couple wrong but a lot of yours are wrong too, I looked up the current rules and it looks like this if the age isn't dropped.

Doesn't look like there is anything about dropping the age either, looked everywhere.

If the 10 year club rule remains - then Maxwell wont qualify until 2015 season (hence he will never be on vets list - will have retired by then), as he was on rookie list until 2004, only upgraded to primary list end 2004, so his first full season on primary list was 2005. The 10 year rule only covers 'full' years on primary list (mid season upgrades do not count).

Spewing, the guy has been at the club 8 years :( but wouldn't that make it 2014? You can be in your 10th year right, doesn't have to be 11?

32.1.3 Eligibility
A Player is eligible to be nominated as a veteran Player or included
on a Club’s Veterans List (”Veteran”) if in the case of all other Clubs,
the Player:-
(i) is 30 years of age or older as at 30 September during the
relevant AFL Season; and
(ii) has been included on the relevant Club’s List (excluding the
Rookie List), for a period of 10 complete years.

Above rules are for 2011 season. Have not seen 2012 rules as yet.
Must be 10 complete years on primary list, therefore Maxwell 2005-2014, only elegible from 2015.

Does this mean that Taz does not qualify under (ii)?

Re: Delistings

Can anyone confirm the status of Hartley on the rookie list, is he just one of the 8 rookies you are allowed (6 after 2 veterans) or is he a separate scholarship rookie outside of the 8?

Will just wait and see on that

Re: Delistings

No I'm not asking if he'll go on the rookie list, I'm asking if he is outside the rookie list, ie: will we have 6 rookies or 7?

He can be outside the 6 (8-2 coz of the vets). Whether we will choose to have 7 or not is another question and one we won't know until after the rookie draft.

I believe he has to go onto either the rookie list or the senior list as of 2012, as he has "come of draftable age", and when a scholarship player does that, he must be drafted, like we will do with Witts in the National Draft.

Hartely will just be like any other rookie in 2012, or else he can do what Stubbs did to Hawthorn and basically enter the draft as just another one of the draft pool.

Incorrect, under the current rules my list is 100 correct :)

on the topic of the new vets rule, it doesnt look like it will really benefit us unti the core group (05-08 drafts) become eligible

This is correct but as a NSW scholarship holder he can be added to the rookie list as an extra rookie giving us 7 as opposed to 6 rookies. If we choose to that is.

Except for Maxwell. He played senior football in 2004 (rookie upgrade), however was only placed on the primary list in 2005, hence to qualify he has to serve 10 complete years on primary list (2005 to 2014). Therefore he is only eligible as vet from 2015 onwards.

I assume Hartley will be the 7th rookie (under the additional rookie scheme as a NSW scholarship player). We can also place Caracher as an additional 8th rookie, if we choose, under the same scheme?
Hence we will have 6 other rookies (Mooney & Cribbin) plus 4 others (some may be delisted players from our primary list (Dick, Farmer, Stubbs??) or live picks from the rookie draft.
This is assuming that all other existing 2011 rookies are delisted (as rumoured).
