Course they will be 15 goals in two weeks at the G so who wouldnt look to "shut him down". They will try but when fev is on song there is so stopping him.

I'd expect you guys to win as clearly you are a better side but don't get too cocky maybe this week melbourne will get it together

I do agree that we have to pay the demons some respect as they are not a bad side. They may get up but if we play well then we will win.

They can try what they like, I can see our midfield running amuck and getting a few goals themselves. I don't think I have ever gone into a Carlton match more confident than this week against Melbourne.

This will be the test. If we can organise ourselves to deal with Fev being triple-teamed I'll be impressed.
Second that, we need to show we can get goals from other avenues, the midfield needs to get in on the act and second string forwards like fisher, betts, cloke, kreuzer need to contribue.

if judd, stevo, murph, simmo, gibbs and carrazzo all get one each I'll be pretty happy at the end of the day.

As davey_magik pointed out in another thread (on the main board I believe)..

Melbourne will start with all their 22 players on the field, 6 of them going to Fevola, the other 16 going to Judd...

We'll win

if we lose this week... last week's win will be a waste...

Agree 100% with that. The key to winning this week, will be the same reasons we won last week. If our intensity is better than the Dees and we use the ball more effectively we should win. These are a couple of areas where the Dees have been down but I expect their intensity to at least be up this week.

Dean Bailey must be a coaching oracle ...

Fancy declaring that he wants to shut down Fevola as a tactic ... because no club has ever tried that before, right Dean?

besides the fact that "Big Bad" Brad Miller (who is just as artificially tough as Nick Maxwell) isn't playing - and Nathan Carroll is usually Fevola's bytch we should demolish Melbourne up front.

Note: I said SHOULD.

Dont see the point of this article.

there usually never is a point to most articles

that fact is, its a slow news day coz Barry hall already got his suspension

so the journo's just print anything they get told which is actually just a normal news day!!

Apart from Bailey stating the blindingly obvious, there was also this:

Bailey wants Demons fans to come out in force for Sunday's match.
"We need our members and our supporters to come and support us during this tough time we're going through now," he said.

GOOD LUCK with that Dean. They don't even show up when your club's winning mate. I'm not coming over for this one but Bluebaggers get there in big numbers and outnumber the hell outta those Dees.

We've won just one of our last 15 games....and you've never been more confident of a Carlton win in your life.

Have you only supported the blues for those 15 games?

I wouldn't laugh yet fellow Blues supporters. Russell robertson always seems to get 'on song' against us, and this may be the game for him to do it...Same with their midfields. Stevens, Murphy and Scotland will be key players in this game if Judd and Fev are blanked out, as will be our rucks Cloke and Kruezer.

But seriously, they should look to punishing the deemons, who cares if they are crap now, they didn't have mercy on us in our last game at Princess Park.

Come on, son. The good times are almost here. A quick 8 hour burst in the WRX and you're at the ground. You know you want to.

Let em' try to stop "The Fev" I dont think they got much hope, but if they do Fisher can kick a bag for us and maybe throw waite forward for a half and ley him kick a few or even setanta or Kruezer...endless possibillities there, we are not just a one man team although Mr. Incrediblue was awesome the last couple of weeks.

GO BAGGERS!!!!!:thumbsu::cool:

Leave him one out deep in the goal square like we did against Collingwood. It is really hard to see where Melbourne are going to cause us any real headaches. All of their guns would have to stand up on Sunday. Guys like: Neitz, Robbo, Green, Bruce, White and Mclean would have to have a pretty good impact over the game.

Geez i know you're good Thy but how did you know what sort of car i drive ?

And you're right i do want to BUT i'm keeping a few trips up my sleeve for the coming bomber, tiger and pie games.

Pretty obvious article. If the Dees have a strategy, they ain't going to reveal it to the footy media. The key to stopping Fev, is cutting off his supply and blocking his space. If the Blues midfield move the ball fast into the forward 50, Fev can't be beaten. Bailey no doubt knows this, and his focus will be on negating players like Stevens, Murph, and Judd, and ensuring his play makers get plenty of the ball. How many goals Fev kicks is secondary to outcome of this midfield battle. I think it'll be a lot closer than many expect. :)
