I like Gambit
Dregdenx5. Yeah baby

I got about 6 more tier 3 nightmares to bound on the leviathan or whatever it is to get the reaper seal. Will be glad when that's done.

I don't hate Gambit really. It's not my favourite game mode and I don't play it more than I have to, but I'm so used to hanging shit on and sending anti gambit memes to multiple gilded clan mates that I just do it out of habit now. One of them is 5x gilded too and I'm not sure if I pushed him too far the other day because he hasn't spoken to me since but I kept it up anyway lol.

I've never been huge on seals. I get the seasonal ones but always rock my MMXX one because it was the last one before vaulting the old raids. Like how in WoW I never took off Hand of A'dal because it told everyone I did a few raids back in the old days and it was wank factor. My new clan is awesome and I'm finally going to gild Conquerer so I think I'll chuck that on when I do.

Destiny PvP has so many bad-feels associated with it.
  • PvE quests that require you to play it.
  • Catalysts that require you to play it.
  • Lack of SBBM.
  • Long-ish queue times.
  • Lack of an even playing field in regards to weapons/armor/mods.
I want to enjoy it but there are less frustrating PvP games out there.

In the last TWAB, Bungie flagged that they are bringing back a "loose" form of skill-based match-making from next season (I believe). They recognised that they need to make "fair matches using SBMM" in order to allow "all players to enter the Crucible and regularly get matches where they can feel competitive and have a reasonable chance of winning/competing". It's not going to be as strict as the SBMM algorithm used in the Survival playlist, but it should lead to less pub stomps than current CBMM does. Importantly, Bungie said that it will implement a form of fireteam-sized-preferred matchmaking in season 19 (the season after the next, I believe) which means we should see less six-stacks crushing randomly generated teams in PVP.

I have grown sick of PVP in Destiny 2 and haven't played it for months. I've foregone the exotic weapon catalysts like Ticuu's that require PVP kills. The relatively slight bump in stats or perks is not worth the frustration of being rofl-stomped by PVP sweats.

Top pvpers I've noticed have had a bit of cry because they might not be able to stomp lobbies for their streams. "pLaYiNg aGaInSt bEtTeR pLayErS mAkEs yOu BeTtEr" is total bullshit. I improve playing against people around my skill level. Not getting constantly mercied.

I've actually been playing a fair bit of PvP the last couple seasons. Have gone from shit to average but hit a wall. When I get really tilted though (like last night constantly matching into Chinese and Russian lobbies) I swap to my hunter which has a omni + Lorentz build saved so I can feel a bit better before going to bed. I have zero shame.

Liking the location setting. Will be good to be in a city
We gonna be spidermanning? looks like some swinging action going on?

Not sure how representative that will be as I don't know how it will apply to other locations. I've been itching for content in the Last City for ages though so hopefully that's it.

Starting it now. First question, is that Nolan North doing drifter? Doesn't quite sound like the regular VA

Now that you mention it I thought I heard it a bit different too.

Look forward to jumping in soon. I just logged on to find some bounty dumps but I didn't actually check if shared wisdom was active on my first dump. All up only got 16 levels :(

Gave King's Fall contest mode a bit of a go. We didn't go in too serious thinking we could clear it. I reckon we could have beaten Totems if we gave it a few more goes because it wasn't too bad the more we tweaked loadouts and classes. Looks like 6x Loreley could cheese it but my devour warlock was pretty tanky. Going back in tomorrow when it's back to normal mode and I'm sure we'll clear it. It definitely looks prettier with the polish since D1.

Yep same. Four of us tried for a while on totems with two random but just couldn't nail it.

I just couldn't find a way to kill stuff faster to get more Deathsinger's Power to try and make it go quicker. We were running gally to make short work of the boomers that spawn at the top because they were causing havoc otherwise but without my staples like Witherhoard it felt futile, especially later in the fight when more and more adds keep spawning in and in contest mode it was tough to even mow through waves of red bars. We did start to find a rhythm and got better it and managed to get deeper into the fight but by then everyone was sort of over it lol. I'm sure it will be a walk in the park tomorrow.
