Rioli was 27 and Robertson is 21 not sure what either has to do with the other please enlighten me?
Offered 4 years on around $650k and was chump change in the mega trade last year.

A better player on exposed form than Robertson.

What does age have to do with it?

What does age have to do with trade value haha and history of undisciplined training uncertainty over fitness… you start your post with uneducated accusations 😂.

What history of undisciplined training?

If he hadn't panicked over a drug test, he would've gotten a strike and played those 2 years.

Good thing Geelong's players during the glory days were aware of the strike rules.

Again, what does his age have to do with trade value? If he was 31, you might have a point.

He’s been fat and hasn’t had the ability to play in certain roles in the past.

He has a body that breaks down and was a real risk to take on. He is probably going to be done by 31 tbh that’s 3 years where 22 Robertson could have 10 in front of him.

Yeah, in 2016.

He has a body that breaks down and was a real risk to take on.

Body that breaks down? He's not Shuey/Yeo mate.

Or Robertson could get de-listed at the end of his next contract.

Age isn't particularly relevant unless you're over 30.

You got me there.

Pick 1 or it's not happening.

Yes but also the third round pick will be at the very start of the round around 37 and not mid to late 40’s. It is not that bad a deal. Might have swap a future fifth for a future fourth from West Coast for points if we want to bargain that hard for more.

Triple M just "reported" that Dev Robertson has told West Coast he plans to sign with them. Obviously need to wait until he officially signs something but i wouldn't be surprised if it starts popping up in the next couple days. Would like to see if Ryan Daniel's says anything as he's usually the guy in the know on all things WA related.

Makes sense for Dev though: More money, longer deal, gets to go Home, guaranteed role with Eagles midfield that he won't get with Lions as he isn't one of "Fagan's boys" and especially with Levi Ashcroft as F/S coming through in the next few years.

Is that Ryan “Lachie Neale is 100% going to end up back at Fremantle” Daniels? That guy? Yeah he’s great on the pulse

EAGLES’ MOVE CLOUDS ROBERTSON FUTURE
West Coast might have to drag Brisbane Lions midfielder Dev Robertson through the pre-season draft if he wanted to move home given the Eagles’ determination to hang onto early draft picks.
Robertson has some Eagles interest but they have not offered him a four-year deal despite recent reports.
The Eagles have selections one, 19, 35, 38, 54 and 57.
Fremantle has some interest in Hawthorn’s departing small forward Tyler Brockman but he is expected to find a way to the Eagles.
The Dockers have told him he would find a role in the forward line with Michael Frederick likely to move to a wing to replace Liam Henry.
But the Eagles will secure him so by the time they trade for Brockman they likely won’t have a pick for Robertson.

4 year contract offered might be a furphy

Robertson is a fringe player at the Lions, and with another Ashcroft on the way next year he's not likely to be moving up the pecking order anytime soon. Pretty obvious to most he would be moving back to the Eagles for opportunity as a best 23 player and not just riding it out in the VFL waiting for a call up.

Ive always been curious. Does Jay Clark even own a car? Surely he isnt smart enough to operate

Literally everyone knows Brisbane will ask for a 2024 draft pick in any trade here so ignoring the most likely outcome to talk that rubbish is dumb even by his standards
Correct. Brisbane needs points for next year. So West Coast very likely keep their picks in this draft. If Robertson decides West Coast is his destination a deal will get done that will be satisfactory to Brisbane to accumulate points for Ashcroft2 and a few academy boys in 2024.

Who else have you got coming through?

Naah, if he was staying he would have signed by now.
Most Lions supporters think he's gone.
Hard to resist guaranteed playing time at West Coast.
At Brisbane he'll be a fringe mid at best. He'll have Ashcroft x2 ahead and few others competing for spots.

Yeah, he can't sign with WC now, but can sign with Brisbane now, so why hasn't he.......probably because he's going to WC
I really hope not. Can stay at Brisbane.
Good chance we can find a better player at the pick we'd trade for him (depending on our recruiters doing their job properly).
