I happened to watch Jamar play a VFL game late in the season and there is no way he can go on. He can't run anymore.... literally immobile.
I wouldn't mind picking up Adcock personally. I have always been a fan but i can't see it happening. The club is all in on the next generation and i think they will opt to go much younger. However he could really help out Langdon and Scharenberg in terms of development.
I have been saying since the start of the season we should go after Mitch Brown. He is a seriously good player who suffered from some bad injuries at Geelong. He has shown an ability to play either end of the ground and even up on the wing. He is better than White and could easily slot into our forward line with Cloke and Moore as tall targets. He should be a priority IMO but other clubs will be interested.
There's the problem - he'll be in the draft, I guess.

As I said though, in his first 2 or 3 years he showed a LOT of promise. Maybe the drug thing got to him? Maybe he just didn't get along well with key people which stunted his development?

If he's costing you effectively nothing and you NEED to fill list spots, then why not add a 25 year old defender with senior AFL experience as depth? I'd be shocked if he's worse than Frost. I remember watching Pears when he first started and thinking he could be anything. I liked him.

Bit of the Kris Pendlebury's about him, not tall enough to play KPD, not mobile enough to play as anything other than KPD. Others preferred. Even Ryan Pendlebury would be a better option if you're just looking to fill list spots.

Adcock, Pears and Dempsey should be guys we look to add, though Dempsey no realistic chance for us.

Jamar on the rookie list.

Pass, pass, pass, and pass. Can't see how any of those 4 player enhance or grow our squad or fill definite needs.

Josh Gibson is 189cm. I 191 isn't too short to be a chb or third tall.

Gibson rarely plays as a KPD and has pace and an ability to get off the ground to compete that Pears appears to lack.

Last time I payed attention to Pears was around 2013, his probably lost his pace since then. reports saying he's cooked at 25 I'm starting to move to pass. shame thought he was going to turn into a really good rebounding can a few years back.

Disagree re Gibson, plays allot as a key defender. Played there in 2013 and plays there when Frawley or Lake is injured. Likely to play there even more with Lake's retirement.

Ad dock as depth an leadership to help VFL players to grow, already spoke about Pears, Dempsey as we've lost allot of speed but he's been re-signed and Jamar as a Ben Hudson style ruck coach. Was really good in his day at hit outs to advantage which Grundy, Witts, Cox and now Wyatt need to learn.

Disagree completely on Gibson. Hawks do everything they can to orchestrate the situation where he isn't playing KPD because he's just not big enough. Hence players like Spangher and Schoenmakers playing there. Be very surprised if he plays KPD in 2016, time will tell.

Assumes the quality of our ruck coaching would be improved by adding Jamar just because Hudson was good in that role. No evidence to support that while Hudson was already a highly considered ruck coach prior to coming to the Pies.

Ditto Adcock. No evidence to suggest he's a good mentor or offers more than several current senior list players who'll likely play more VFL in 2016 such as Blair, Macaffer and Goldsack.

Do you have any evidence against Jamar?

Mad for Adcock, he was a club captain, his mentoring skills must be at a decent level.

You're the 1 suggesting we need to add Jamar so maybe you need to make a stronger case than suggesting he was a handy tap ruckman a few years ago.

Ditto Adcock, so every captain is therefore by default a good mentor? According to what people say, Armstrong was just about the best mentor at VFL level this year, don't recall him being a captain anywhere.

I think you need to make a case in the first place intaead of just just shooting down other ideas.

My case is oh young rucks need coach, especially someone who can teach them girlies to advantage which was one of Jamar's specialties.

As for the mentoring thing, the reverse logic doesn't apply and I never suggested that. I suggested to be a captain you have to be a good mentor.

With Armstrong gone looks like we'll need another.

Matty Wright surely worth a look?

Only a few years ago his form was pretty good. 25yrs old can play half forward and have a turn on ball.
I'd like for us to look at him.

Will obvously pick up a kid at pick 27 , personally would like to see Hine pick up a hine special! At pick 66 our next pick get another kid, a rough diamond if you will, a project player.
Frost i would assume will be our last pick at 38.
Then with the rookies i would like to see us target state league players. Wafl, safl or vfl , between 19--23 yrs old , rather then delisted rejects in there mid 20s or older.

Matty Wright; yes please!

Off the delisted players so far (not over 28) he has shown the most at the top level and at 25 still has some good years ahead of him. I'd be all over him as a free hit in a weak draft pool.

Lol... I think I've made more of a case for not recruiting Jamar than you have to do it. Where is the evidence that Rocca and Rendell aren't doing the job? Where is the evidence Jamar has any potential to coach or nurture young ruckmen? Where is the justification for Jamar to block VFL game opportunities for some combination of Witts, Grundy, Moore, Cox, Wyatt or Gault (depending on who is in the seniors) because he's getting a game instead? Or do we line up with 4 ruckmen in our F50?

And again, I reject your suggestion that being a captain automatically makes a player a good mentor. I'm happy that we have have sufficient senior players and coaches, as well as a few seasoned VFL players, to meet that objective without recruiting a good average 30 year old Bears reject.

But that's just my opinion.

I heard Warnock got delisted by the Blues today. Better than Jaymar at the moment.
Such a tall bloke with a good leap. Someone will pick him up.
Didn't Mason Cox take Warnock to cleaners in VFL?

Being tall is not enough as an AFL ruckman. You actually have to do something around the ground which Warnock does nothing of.
