Did anyone actually see the Whitnall incident with their own two eyes?

Hey Goalden, go read my thread on the unofficial ranting board, you'll see what my thoughts are then. Posted under Deej as per usual.

You know, no matter what actually happened, Adelaide supporters and players are going to boo Lance now whenever they play. Pathetic really, isn't it!

The negativity of people just astounds and disappoints me to no end.

I expect that when Buckley gets the ball against the Blues in a couple of weeks, he will cop many boos and jeers from the Carton faithful.....and he ain't even hit anyone!

Now that's negativity!!!

This is ridiculous, are we now suggesting Adelaide get revenge on Whitnall when they next play?

Funny this should be mentioned.

Has anyone remembered what happened back in round 4??

Mark Ricciuto unleashed a ripper of a hip and shoulder (a fair one too) on none other than Lance Whitnall.

Had Lance dazed and confused for the rest of the game, and he had no further unfluence on the game.

Do any of you reckon that Whitnall was getting "revenge" on an Adelaide player?

Actually it was more like a spear tackle, Whitnall was screwed for the rest of the game.

Yeahhhh, thanks for reminding us! I can't remember Carlton bleating about that one, maybe Adelaide should do as we did and stop their bleating.

2 pages of posts and the answer to Blues2001's question is:

No, no one saw it with their own 2 eyes.

Two eyewitnesses are quoted.

One, "Mr Biased" according to VOR and others, says he thought it was fair but admits it might have been high and was 10-15m away. (CJH says it was further away, based on TV).

The other, Neil Kerley, surely as pro-Adelaide a person as you could think of, says it was not deliberate, just unlucky.

I certainly didn't see it either. Whitnall may well have belted him. But the only two people who saw it say it wasn't malicious.

The carry on about this has been ridiculous.

I'm convinced now, this is totally ridiculous and pathetic from the Adelaide fans.

Get off Whitnall's back you moron's, jeez you won the game and that little fairy got up like nothing had happened after the game and belted out the club song. Maybe this guy is just a pedantic woosie.
