Didnt take Fev long....

And here in lies the problem. Hes deliberately drawing negative attention to himself. He knew this was gonna get him plastered all over the back pages but he did it anyway. Arrogance maybe. Attention seeking perhaps. Either way hes bringing the game into disrepute time and time again or is that only a Eagle thing?

On the money.

Mad Money is fine; no problems with it, and I don't even really care about the dildo thing - just can't believe that after last year with the pissing incident and the dildo incident, and the fact most people think Fev is a moron, he does it again.

Im bewildered that we are the only 2 people to catch onto this so far. If you cant see the complete and total arrogance of this act then the rest of yous need to look closer.

Carlton will never win a flag while Fev is at the club. Wont even get close

Who cares ffs. Man photo'd getting drunk in a bar .... WOW. Stop the world. Let's have a summit.

This 'news' irks me. They restrain themselves for pretty much 9-10 months a year, let them have some fun ffs.

If people would just them be on Mad Monday, then there would be no issues or news.

But this is another thing - they DON'T restrain themselves all year eg. Cloke, Betts etc.... and what is wrong with getting together at a player's house? No media, no public, no ability to gain any press...

BS. Don't use 0.1% to label the entire playing fraternity. They are men. They want to get out on the pi$$ and take in the sights, like all men do, or want to do, when they get on the grog.

But Fev turned it into a issue. Theres no issue here if the Hun dont have a pic with Fev holding a dildo. Wouldnt of even made the paper. The writing was filler to put that picture in the news

Theres no issue at all other than Fev doing his utmost to create one himself. Why is he purposely getting his name in the paper for? Surely the AFL have the right to ask him this?

"Hey Chris, let me see if i can find a pressure point with this?"

absolutely incredible post

also what the hell is with fev... is he just a homo? seriously why dildo's all the time

Who knows, I agree on that part, he should know better, but imo, the press would have found something to 'report' on.

imo, just let them be, they're not hurting anyone ... yet.

Well I think the % is a lot higher - they were just stupid, had too much and got caught.

But yeah fair enough. They should go to Sydney - nobody would know them up there.

The big fella is hilarious! He couldn't care less what people think of him, he's entitled to have a drink or two on mad Monday and he's entitled to wave a dildo around in a pub for a laugh with his mates, pity some ******** took a photo of it on their phone and sent it into the paper to try and make a few bucks out of it and then goes on to say the boys were having a laugh and a good time and were mucking round with each other. God forbid that. Get a life you losers, its the end of the season, they're allowed to have a laugh and a beer for as long and as hard as they like so long as they dont break any laws or hurt anyone in the process, waving a dildo in the air is not illegal. Get over it.

It is people like Brendan Fevola that make the AFL what it is, without characters like him we'd have a million Matty Lloyds and Pavlichs running around, bout as entertaining and likeable as a visit to the all night dentist. Good on Fev because he couldnt care less about what people think of him, he's not hurting the side, himself or anyone by what he did. He's a star on and off the field and you all wish you had him!

See the thing is, this is an organisation, who have sponsors, and expect players to be good role models.

They get paid over half a million dollars to kick a footy around. It's not a right, it's a previlage. If they can't grow up and show some restraint, then DONT become an AFL footballer.

It really is that simple. It's a job, if you don't like the rules, find another career.

Why do people feel they automatically get to behave however they wish?
It's baffling to say the least.

Or he could be like Dane Swan where he gang bashes a ****ing cleaner.

Got caught doing what???

I absolutely guarantee you would see worse in any capital or large regional city in Australia on any Friday or any Saturday night. There is no story here.

Im not Fev's biggest fan, but FFS sake give the guy a break. If it's not clear to people just yet that Fev probably isn't the right role model for your child then you have bigger problems to worry about.

I feel kinda sorry for Fevola. I mean what 28 year old guy has fun by getting pissed out of his brains and waving a large fake dick around to all his male teammates??

Not sure if you ever actually played the game but get any footy team together and it's highly unlikey they'll spend the night enjoying a cheeky little Chardonnay and talking about property values.

I don't know if anybody has read the herald sun website this morning, but right next to the photo of fev, there's a headline with brumby defending even more gaming tables being put into crown casino and claming they were allowed because " table gaming is not linked to problem gambling"

I just think some perspective is needed.

When are Clubs going to get a clue..

Even if they Ban Mad Monday the players are going to want to get out and celebrate end of the season and have fun with the team mates. The Clubs should hire an entire venue (surely the pub would appreciate an all day function on a Monday) and keep it completely in house - No Journo's and no camera's!! They can have Buses to unsure no Drink driving, officials could be there to keep thing above board.

And for Carlton they may even get a rep from the local XXX shop to make an appearance for Fev :D

I'm suprised the players off their own bat (without the club's involvement I mean) don't just book a venue for the day, just so that they can have a properly private celebration of their season amongst themselves without the public and media hassling them. I know all clubs have a B&F night (which is a private function), but you can hardly get drunk and disorderly there with club officials in attendance, as they'd most likely frown upon that sort of thing at an official club function.

I don't drink myself, but I have no problem with other people doing it and having fun. I'm all for a bit of a laugh and some 'fun with the boys' (I wouldn't exactly incorperate dildoes into the mix, but anyway), but I don't like it when the media scandalise small stuff like this, as though it's some massive blight on society. Much worse non-violent stuff goes on every week in Australia, particularly on Buck's or Hen's Nights.

As I said earlier, media and parents should worry about being role models for their own kids themselves, rather than relying on footballers to do it, and then crying foul whenever a footy player does something they don't like. Of course, footy players are paid a lot of money, but they're paid to play football, not be responsible for giving life lessons to other people's kids. Footy players are still humans, and are entitled to act accordingly, without the burdon of the unrealistic expectations of perfection that media and parents seem to put upon them by condemning trivial stuff like this. Sure, this kind of stuff from Fev is a bit silly, and he's making a bit of a goose of himself, but it's a private gathering among adults in an adult venue (a pub) which isn't a place for kids in the first place, so there's no need IMO for Fev to be 'thinking of the kids' while he has fun with the boys. Drunken violence aside (as that's condemnable no matter who's involved), people regularly do much stupider things on nights out than this. As inappropriate as it may sound, stuff like (for example) urinating in the street is very, very common on a night out, mainly because most places either charge for entry and/or won't let you just use their toilets and leave (eg. McDonalds), and most public toilets are closed after dark. Obviously that's not really appropriate behaviour, but it's very common and dare I say somewhat accepted among young adults on a night out, particular if they are under the influence of alcohol.

The only people Fev has to answer to in this situation is himself and his wife (and eventually his own child, once it's born), and seeing as she's married to him (and carrying his child), she can't think he's too much of a terrible person, or else she obviously wouldn't be with him.

Fevola is like a cancer.

Carlton will never win anything while he is at the club.

They will be far worse off without him, and would have a situation WORSE than the Bulldogs - no forward to kick to :p

I hope the AFL and other groups come down hard on him, shouldn't be pulling those sorts of antics.

The Ruddster will have to have a few words to the Juddster about it :p

Players are in a pub drinking with each other. No children present. It's a free country. Maybe it is childish but is there a law against being childish? Nobody would even know about it but the people who are there, and most adults have seen a million times worse things being done anyway.
Some opportunist takes a photo on their mobile phone and sends it to the Herald Sun, who publish it and make an issue out of it. Suddenly children and impressionable simpletons everywhere are seeing what happened.
Who has acted immorally in this situation?
The media does far more damage to people's sense of morality and propriety than do AFL footballers. Then they pass themselves off as the guardians of morality.
Tabloid rag hypocrisy at its best.

I cant believe how many people here have missed the point entirely. This article/story has nothing to do with immorality/poor behaviour. Its entirely to do with the arrogance of Brendan Fevola being caught publicly doing the same wrong act. The moral of the story is

1. Boys never learn
2. Fevola seeks attention

The worrying thing for Carlton isnt the fact hes drunk, its that he is so vain as to do as much possible to get his face in the media. Its a selfish and arrogant act in the end. Whether thats immoral depends how much of a prude you are but glossing over it as a boys will be boys drunken incident is missing the point altogether
