Mmmm, just the two matches to start this split round, but both hold significant interest for a variety of reasons.
Macleod vs. Whittlesea
The Kangas have had some close losses of late, some of their own making, while the Eagles have probably performed as expected given their long injury list. The couple the Eagles get back will certainly make a difference, providing they are fully fit. Should be a close and interesting match with the home side to keep whatever slim finals chances they have alive for another week.
Bundoora vs. West Preston
Yes, certainly the match of the season so far, but is it the preview to the last one of the season? A real eight-pointer with the winner having the hold on that first week of rest during the finals. Still concerned about the regular personnel changes at the Roosters and think at this stage the more settled Bulls can grab the advantage.

Round 14.
Northcote Park vs. Eltham
The Cougars are hanging on by the skin of their teeth to fifth spot and have the opportunity to set up some distance if they can overcome the Panthers who always seem to give them trouble, especially at the cricket ground. Should be a good game but fancy the home side again this season.
North Heidelberg vs. Greensborough
If results go their way the Burra can be a game clear in equal second spot and depending on the score line could even be giving the Roosters some hurry-up if they can put distance between themselves and the Doggies.
Heidelberg vs. Montmorency
Both teams have eyes on specific finals spots with the Maggies having won five of their last six while the Tigers are unbeaten in this same stretch with this one highly important for both teams. The home side appears to be a bit more composed at this stage and on the big expansive oval I think it will be the Tigers of old.
