Hoes fought hard today. Both sides had some key players missing and Glen Eira were a bit cleaner with their ball use when it counted.

Our blokes continue to get better and should be contenders in the run home.

Agree Wamba - GE were a bit cleaner in a reasonably tight fought contest. They got away from us again in the third 1/4 with some excellent kicking for goal (at one stage were 10 goals 1) ...... and that was without two of their key forwards. Sheesh. They are a good team with a well drilled structure, that becomes very handy in tight games like yesterday. That said, we battled on and made it a contest late in the last. Hoping to get several key players back soon, keep our improvement happening and be competitive in every game we play.

Shout out to the GE squad for hanging around for post match best players and a beer as they had another function to get to on the other side of town.

Chump.

OP's v Yarra - cant see the Bundoora Boys dropping this one.
GE v Aquinas - 10 from 10 for the ladder leaders unless Aver has a massive day out.
House v MHSOB - the Unicorns in this one even though they are missing a few quality players this week.
BT v Cobras - the Bullants were unlucky last week and just missed on win no.1 this year, but I think the Cobras in another close one.
WB v Hoers - only 2 points separated the teams in round 1 win to the Hoers, but I think the home ground will be enough to get WB over the line in a MASSIVE game for both clubs finals aspirations (would be very happy to be wrong on this one though)

Good luck all and enjoy the weekend full of local footy.

West Brunswick miles too good for us today. We have our work cut out for us to make the 4. Tipping we will come home with a wet sail with lots of injured players due back. Question is will it be too late?

Agree Wamba - WB way too good for us yesterday in ALL areas of the game..... and we were very poor.

Shout out to the WB football club for a great initiative for NAIDOC week with a welcome to country. Well Done.

Good show giving accolades to clubs for initiatives and also for being social. Ivanhoe have been the toughest club for GE to play this season IMO. With a bit of lunch they might sneak in. Amazing how many injuries clubs have even after the covid break. Good luck guys.

Did you actually go out to Ivanhoe ?

Thanks Phantom - we will need a bit of luck now, but if not then simply not good enough this season as everyone has had injurIes at some stage, so no excuses. To have a successful year you need talent, effort and luck - generally the club with the highest level of all three gets the rewards.

We get the opportunity again to test ourselves against a very good team in MHSOB next game - that will tell us a bit more about where we are at.

Have to check in early this week .............

Aquinas v WB - Westies were VERY good against us last week and even though the muddy home deck will suit the boys from Ringwood, it's Westies for me.
Hoers v MHSOB - massive game for us this week, but the Unicorns have been VERY good all year and deserve to be favorites. Just. Unfortunately.
Cobras v The House - Cobras hard to beat at home and will get the points in this one I'd think.
GE v Yarra - GE continue to be the team to chase (IMO) and as such will calk up another victory at home.
Bulleen Temp v OP's - some encouraging improvement from the Bullants in recent outings and even though they are at home, I cant see OP's letting this one slip in another step towards locking in finals action later in the year.

Hopefully the latest news today re a new small outbreak does not spread and impact the rest of the 2021 footy season or more importantly our lives in any significant manner.

Good luck all, Chump.

OP
Yarra parked a number behind the footy all day against us, and at Doncaster Reserve, that worked pretty well. I haven't been to Packer Park for a number of years, but if it is bigger, the extra man might not be as effective.
That's not a clip at Yarra BTW, as they played quite well and pushed us all day. We were missing quite a few regulars, but Yarra were more impressive than their ladder position would indicate.

Aquinas at home over the House - If Aver plays (up forward) :)
Yarra V BT - massive game for both - Yarra at home too good over a recently improving Ants.
Ivanhoe v Cobras - The boys from Manningham got the better of us last time. VERY keen to even the yearly ledger.
GE v OP's - will be a great game and a good indicator on where OP's are at against the very best in the comp. GE to keep the unbeaten streak going for another week as just about at full book apart from Drenth.
West B v MHSOB - game of the round. Westys are VERY hard to beat out at their ground and played some excellent footy against us a couple of weeks back. That said, MHSOB have done little wrong so far and even though the Tran boys are still missing, they are a quality team. Flip of the coin ..... West B at home in the wind and rain in an upset.

Good luck all.

Was walking my cat at Packer Park for 6 hours and managed to watch GE seniors and reserves take care of Paradians. The GE girls won their final well too. Away the thirds took care of Old Brighton and gre u19 boys were beaten.
