Good game of footy at Ivanhoe Park in front of a big crowd last night. High intensity and pressure throughout with both sides cracking in and trying to dominate the other physically. Real arm wrestle early before the Hoes got away in the second and third quarters. Most thought the game was 'closer' than the end result on the scoreboard and both sides will take a bit out of it I would suggest.

Some big games coming up that should tell us a lot about where some teams stand.

Brunswick v Parade, MHSOB v Aquinas and West Brunswick v Bulleen Temp could all be pivotal clshes IMO.
Wonder if any West Brunswick boys spoke of Aquinas at Ivanhoe after game the other night! Not really sold on Aquinas as yet!
Thought West Brunswick were closer to Ivanhoe prior to game last Sat.
Be great to hear from MHSOB about game last Saturday, what happened, in front 3/4 time then fell away after report-ably great game against Ivanhoe.

Wouldn't rate Bull Temp too much Wamba, they have beaten 2 struggling teams and lost easily to Aquino's. Thinks it's between NOBS, MH and Ivanhoe.

Time will tell!

I'd definitely put West Brunswick in their too Adhoc and Parade are a chance too.

Sorry,new to D2
Who are NOBS

Early this week ......

Brunswick v OP's at Brunswick .... flip! Most likely game of the round in relation to setting themselves up for final four positioning. Brunswick have been VERY good in the opening rounds and shown the capacity to score heavily. But OP's had an outstanding win at the Garvey last week to let everyone know that last years top 4 position was not a fluke. Brunswick at home v OP's playing games against what looks to have been better competition in the first 3 rounds ......flip. I'm jumping on Mappas mob for this one.

Cobras V Yarra - both teams desperate for a win after slow starts to the year and wanting to get some points on the board. The Cobras always tougher at home, but Yarra was not that far away from one of the seasons early hot teams last outing. I'll go with the home team in what looks to be a very tight affair.

West Brunswick V the Bullants - another great game in the making. Whilst the Ants have started very well in what continues to look like an improved season for them, I had a good look at West last week and as as has been discussed the result was a little flattering for us. No one has a bigger ground advantage - IMO - than West B at Home and in expected windy and wet conditions their physicality around the contest could be a touch too much as the game wears on.

House v Hoers - off to the Southside to play the House at home is never an easy task. We are tracking ok, with plenty still to do and an appetite to continue to grow with every game if we want to improve on last year. Hoers to get the win.

MHSOB v Aquinas - wow wee! What a match up and arguably the 'match of the round'. Aquinas have been the real surprise packet early in season 2022 with an unbeaten winning streak and are looking to keep the momentum going. No doubt their best looks to be very good, but they will need it to be if they want to beat the Unicorns at home after last week. Were we under selling OP's or over selling MHSOB? Time will tell, but this week at home I expect the Unicorns to return to the winners circle and pinch the points in a close on.

Have a great weekend. no injuries.

Didn’t get down to the Gillon today, but based on the results of both games, it appears that Brunswick’s request to drop down to D2 is paying dividends for them.
Lick our wounds and look forward to hosting West Brunswick next week.

Shout out to Powerhouse in providing great hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. Was a pleasure to be a guest there and we hope to reciprocate on the return fixture.
Could not agree more Wamba - always have a fantastic after match and a great initiative that support volunteers with a few freebies.

Happy to get the win and we played some good footy at times. Hopefully get a few more back next week for the top of the table clash v Brunswick.

They are playing some good footy Mappa and it will be a great test for us at home next week that's for sure.

Any insights on their best players and game style warmly received ;) :)

Chump, where do you find the time to post so much info on here?

something more like this.

Powerhouse v Yarra Valley - Powerhouse surely at home
Ivanhoe v Brunswick - Ivanhoe at home if full team in!
Aquinas v Cobras - Aquinas easily
Bull temp v Melb High - Its going to be a slaughter MH to win by 100 points
Parade v West Brunswick - If Parade beat MHSOB at home, should easily account for Westies
