We beat South Yarra pretty comfortably. After last year getting an easy praccy was a good thing for our confidence.

So we have a few this weekend. We play South Yarra, Old Yarra Cobras played Richmond Central last night, then Mazenod vs Friars, Therry vs Brunswick, Prahran vs SMD, Parade vs West Heidelberg, Ivanhoe vs Parkside and Hawthorn vs MHSOB. Interesting range of opponents

Brunswick got absolutely slaughtered yesterday by an undermanned Therry Penola. Have they lost a few players or just not expected to do aswell? Really thought they’d be bound to come up

South Districts played Prahran Assumption on Saturday.

A development squad of 2s/3s took on the Prahran Ressies. In a close fought game Prahran edged it by ten points.

In the seniors it was another close contest and Souths edged Prahran by 16 pts after starting the last term 10pts back. I think Sths had one or two extra on the bench so may have been a factor in the last qtr.

Both senior squads missing 6 or so of their best.

Slaughtered UHS last week as well. I’ve had a look at the VAFA transfer system and it looks like they’ve got 25 players coming in. Smokey for the flag potentially?

Aquinas played Parkside in Croydon this afternoon in a very tightly fought game. No scoreboard and nobody seemed to know at the end but would have been less than a goal in it either way.

SMS had a good hit out against Wattle Park today. Bad kicking in the first half was annoying (2.8 to HT) but looking forward to playing SMD round 1!

SMD took on Powerhouse at Port Melbourne on the weekend in final practice match.

Souths won convincingly. 14.10.94 to 4.6.30. Not sure how strong Powerhouse were. I hear Souths had 7 or 8 starting 22 missing.
