Yes, that was what they complained about, but the ball was definitely in the air when the siren went. Field umpire confirmed with the goal umpire, who then signaled a goal. It was after that when Tempy protested to the ump. A second later and the player might not have kicked the ball before the siren. Anyway they can always check the game video. It was hard to believe but that's definitely what happened.
Just on Cameron Cloke, he looks cooked and shouldn't play after this season. He'd be taking good money out of the club and not performing on the ground.
If you watch the replay (on Vimeo) the ball was clearly kicked before the Siren went, I just think the Tempy blokes couldn't believe they lost (and I tend to agree with them). But that is the EB way this year, they often don't play their best until challenged. Cloke was limping when he was running on - not a good look.

It also looked like time has eventually caught up with three-time competition best and fairest, Kane Maghamez.

2nd half maghamez shut no7 out of the game who was easily east Burwood a best in the 1st half. He has defiantly lost abit of pace but wouldn’t write him off completely. Had a very interrupted 1st half of year. He will only improve in back half.

He did shutdown Martini.

No, sorry but No.1 was playing on Martini in the second half and for most of the game.

No I think you will find maghamez did
Go and watch the video. https://efnl.sportscastcloud.com/cl...st Burwood v Templestowe&season=2022&round=11
Maghamez played on him for 2 minutes at the end of the 3rd quarter and 5 min at the start of the 4th and only at centre bounces. He was lost after that. All he did during that time was to continually elbow Martini in the back. Watching the last 2 quarters Martini continued to play well. Kicked one of our few goals in the last quarter to get us going and got out a nice handball from ground level to help set up the play that eventually lead to the EB win.
Maghamez had a total of 2 kicks and one mark for the game and gave away 2 frees. He was a champ 10 years ago and 2 divisions below this one. Time has caught up with him and Templestowe needs to put game time into a younger player for the future of their club.

If you watch martini’s impact after maghamez went on to him he was rattled after some physical pressure. Those stats are not accurate at all. Yes maghamez is not what he was but I wouldn’t judge of 1 game.

Maghamez only went on him at the very end of the third quarter so I can't see how he shut him down for the second half of the game. Total rubbish. Watch the video, then count Maghamez's possession count. The stats are accurate. I can understand why it would be hard for you to watch the video but anyone who watches the video can see it for themselves. The only physical pressure was while they were waiting for 4 centre bounces when Maghamez continually smashed him in the back with his elbow. He couldn't apply any pressure because he was always a mile away from the Martini and ball. Once the ball was bounced Maghamez was a long way off the ball while Martini was in the hunt for it. Fantasy stuff to say he shut him down. Watch the video!

Ok seeing as you are all over the stats tell me how many possessions did martini have in the 1st half Compared to once maghamez started bumping ( not 1 elbow in the back by the way ) from what I watched. There is no doubt maghamez is at the end of his career but facts are that he put martini off his game from the second he applied some physicality at the bounces. Good luck to the old fella, he wanted to play in the 2’s but due to injury’s has worked his ass off to help the club and play his role. Always said he wanted to go back to finish his career at tempy and play 12 more games to get 100 games for the club ,2 games to reach the milestone. Best of luck sugar.

Some interesting games this week. S Belgrave v Tempy, Ringwood v Heathmont, Knox v Oakleigh, Boronia v Basin and Mulgrave v East Burwood. All can go either way, maybe not Knox but the rest yes. I am going for all the home teams to be the winners. The weather prediction is no rain.

Yes, good luck to him, I hope he makes it.
It still doesn't mean that father time hasn't caught up to him, like it does to everyone.
As far as it goes about shutting Martini down, I went back and rewatched the game. Maghamez did in fact have 3 kicks not 2 as I said earlier.
Here are Martini's stats. 1st Q - 3K 3HB, 2nd Q - 5K 2HB, 3rd Q 3K 3HB, 4th Q - 3K 2HB 1Goal. That goal was the one that put us back within 2 points. His last handball out of the pack helped set up the goal that won the game.

Last chance for The Basin this week against Boronia then Sth Belgrave next week. If they don’t beat Boronia I think there goneski

Nah, it's a Final 5. The Top 4 look set but Mulgrave is in 5th from Heathmont, The Basin and Templestowe, and there's one game between the four clubs with 7 games left. Few twists and turns to come for that 5th spot i reckon.

Mulgrave is a massive chance to win this weekend with a few notable East Burwood outs. Mulgrave winning and Heathmont losing makes an interesting outcome. Heathmont has to win every game and hope everyone drops a few. The Basin are flat-track bullies away from home, can't see them knocking off Boronia. I could be wrong but if I am right that makes it a lot harder for them. It's very close with plenty of games to go.

Good to get that game over with. Had me a bit worried for the first half. Pretty good win over Mulgrave in the end.
Our boys have some real fight in them and hate to lose.
