Do essendon deserve the number 1 draft pick?

No
For all the "they've already been punished enough" the reality is the,
Being kicked out of finals
Loss of draft picks
And 2 million in fines
Was only for poor governance.
What was the punishment for being found guilty of systematic doping of banned substances

Fully paid overseas holiday and maybe (who are we kidding, of course it is) the number one draft pick

They should only be allowed to enter the draft at the end of the first round

I think the premise is absurd
To me it was simply wrong to punish the players and the club years after the event. To continue it further is beyond ridiculous. A Murderer or a rapist can't be punished multiple times for a crime, why is it ok in this case?
It's well past time to move on and yes they absolutely get the picks that reflect their ladder position.

That's a terrible analogy, what happened was someone was murdered and then the parents have come in and gone 'well we found the body in his room but anyone could have put him there and we need him to go to college to support us' your grounded for 3 weeks Timmy

Then the police have come in and gone no you ****ing killed someone you can't just get away with that your going to jail

Then the college has gone don't worry, we will still give you that first scholarship in front of other people who deserve it because you can make us more money as well

What better way to respond to a shit analogy than with an even shitter analogy!

Except everybody knows it wasn't actually for "governance".

Should lance Armstrong be allowed to ride bikes again? Should sun be allowed to compete in the Olympics? Should russia have a national team.this year? Wada has got bigger issues in wirld sport so afl have been able to sweep this pile of dog poo under the carpet. Onya gillam you self serving toad.

I get you beleive what your saying, but your reasoning makes no sense to me.

Your point was they shouldn't be allowed to be tried twice, but they were never tried correctly in the first place
Ok I get that
In which case there is an impořtant principle of double jeooardy in the law and that was largely the reason for my analogy. It is there for a reason.
The overall outcome of punishment being given by three different bodies, over several years has lead to an appalling outcome. To remove draft picks now would make it worse. That is my view.
It would take a very powerful argument to change that view, obviously you're entitled to yours.

My only argument would be though if the first bodies had done their job correctly then their wouldnt be a need for the third body
Thats why there are different levels of court aswell

Love watching you guys trying to find a balance between "they're shit anyway even with all their good players they finished 4th last last year" and "They don't deserve it cause all their experienced players will be back"

Great reading, I can sense the fear, The sleeping giant is about to awaken. :)
The sleeping giant has been passed out for 15 years. Are you sure he's not in a coma?
