Do the Swans now have the best forward line in the comp?

Still think eagles edges hawks in the forward department. We have two quality kpf in darling and Kennedy a few teams would kill just for one of them including Fremantle carlton gold coast bulldogs port Adelaide Sydney even. We are really lucky to have one let alone two. Lecras Is probably the best small forward in the game pre injury. And add cox and naita that's a very solid core with the likes of hill, dick and nicco decent enought. Plus midfield rotation I think we have hawks covered just.

Franklin and Roughead are the best duo going around. How is the Eagles forward line better? In what capacity? Franklin is better then Kennedy, Roughead is better then Darling, Breust is better then Hill.

What about all these Sydney posters hey?

How does West Coast have a better forward line than the Hawks? Buddy almost won us the grand final off his own boot, while Josh and Jack were watching from their lounge rooms.

I rate the Cola Swans' forward line about 4th now with T$ppett.

FF: McGlynn Tippett Morton
HF: Goodes Reid Jetta

Throw in Rohan, LRT and Pyke and O'Keefe and McVeigh rotating through.

I still think the Hawks are out in front, but it's closing at the top.

Nice looking no doubt, but the best in the comp? it'd be up there but i'd prefer Hawthorns any day.

You could also argue that Buddy lost you the grand final off his own boot.

Franklin 520 goals
Roughead 294 goals
Rioli 140 goals
Breust 75 goals
Gunston 59 goals
Puopolo 32 goals

Total goals = 1120 all ready. Considering Franklin and Roughead are still only 25, Puopolo 25, Rioli 23, Breust 22, Gunston 21. There is a lot more goals to come yet. When time comes when Franklin and Roughead retire they will combine for 1200+ goals between them. They are already have 814 between them. :)

Hopefully they can score when it's needed most next year! .... Say hmmmm.. The GF! :)

Dude!!!

Shut up. We discussed this remember. That and the whole Cyril thing was going to be kept a secret right....RIGHT?

Both Reid & Tippett had poor years, and what has Morton achieved thus far?

what has Morton achieved thus far?
There are only 2 players on Adelaide's list who've kicked more goals in a season than Morton - Porplyzia in 2009 and Walker in 2012.

For the record I don't think Sydney's forward line is their biggest strength, and it certainly needs to be judged on more than goals alone as they get a huge amount of goals from midfield. But I'll stick up for Morton who is definitely capable of producing 2 goals a game, and has in the past.

Probably because he knows he'll be dropped if he doesn't keep it up, Morton's defensive work so far has actually been quite good. 7 tackles I think against Collingwood in the prelim.

4 main contenders:
Sydney - Reid, Tippett, Goodes, McGlynn, Rohan, Morton?
(Jetta, O'Keefe, Jack, Kennedy, McVeigh, Bolton rotating through or being able to kick goals from the midfield)

With 3 very handy talls, and an abundance of goal kicking mids, this is a pretty potent attack. Rohan hasn't played much footy though, and Morton is a fringe player, so they bring the forward line down a notch, but very reasonable to expect both to have good 2013's

West Coast - Kennedy, Darling, Cox/Naitanui, LeCras, Nicoski, Hill
(Cox/Naitanui, Embley, Masten, Shuey rotating through or kicking goals from the midfield)

Very underrated forward. Say Cox is starting forward, I would take Cox/Kennedy/Darling over Reid/Goodes/Tippett. LeCras is a brilliant small forward, and Nicoski and Hill can contribute 25+ goals a season. In terms of a pure 6 forward line, this gets my vote. Add Embley and Naitanui, as well as a goal a game Shuey, and this is a very excellent forward line.

Geelong - Hawkins, Podsiadly, Johnson, Chapman, Stokes, Menzel
(Bartel, Duncan, Christensen, Varcoe, Motlop rotations)

With two of th best forward/mids in the game of the past 6 years (Johnson, Chapman), a matchwinning power forward yet to hit his prime (Hawkins), and some very handy smalls around them, this is surprisingly a not much talked about attack. Talk of Varcoe and Motlop being played at HB in 2013 may decrease the efficiency, but this is right up there in terms of individual players and how they combine as a forward line

Hawthorn - Franklin, Roughead, Gunston, Breust, Rioli, Puopolo
(Lewis, Smith, Hale rotating through)

This has the best key forward in the game, one of the best small forwards, and two ver underrated forwards capable of kicking 50+ (Roughead) and 30+ (Breust) consistently. Must be considered highly. I feel though Puopolo lets them down a bit, he isn't in the same quality as most mentioned in this post, but he has only had a couple of years in the AFL. As a team of 6, it's right up there, but the lack of real goal kicking mids lets them down in my eyes.

So, in terms of a starting 6 forward line:
1. Hawthorn
2. West Coast
3. Geelong
4. Sydney

A rotating forward line (8-10ish players)
1. Geelong
2. Sydney
3. West Coast
4. Hawthorn

Overall for me:
1. West Coast
2. Hawthorn
3. Geelong
4. Sydney

Am quite surprised at the lack of Geelong in this thread. They are right up there imo. I'm guessing J-Pod and Johnson/Chapman playing more midfield then forward in recent years lets them down?

Gee great comeback. Nobody mentioned anything about a flogging or the margin. What was pointed out was your posting seriously embarrassed the more intelligent Hawk posters on BF. No fear though, you can plead diminished responsibility based on your mental capacity.
Even 2 months after winning a flag you're complaining about Hawthorn supporters, Congrats you were 10 points better. Losing by 10 points isn't going to diminish any of my confidence in my boys, i'm not here to barrack for another team.

No amount of crying will stop me posting with confidence about the TEAM i SUPPORT. I'm sure you can find something else to complain about.
