The media hounds are coming for him.

Cornes, Caroline Wilson and Barrett all have an axe to grind with Beveridge. It's not going to be pretty.

We need to tone down the insults. The man is a great person.
I think this is a problem tbh. Cornes, Wilson and Barrett all have personal issue with Bevo, and this is no secret to the general public (particularly Barrett). If it's just these three piling on, it doesn't mean shit, and just gets toxic without delivering results that are of benefit to the club

Spewing because I love what Bevo has done for the club and how much joy he has brought me in the early days. But Im so fed up, and am beginning to feel we have wasted the golden years on what is the best looking list Ive ever seen us have. I want off this rollercoaster, the good times are fantastic but every loss feels like the same ****ing game - dominate around the ball for a half, kick like crap in front of goals to leave the half time margin at 4 goals instead of 8, then fade away. So. Many. Times.

No one's insulting him and no one has said he's not a nice bloke.

He's not getting the best out of the players and everyone is frustrated. Purely a job performance assessment. He's told a few nice blokes to go forth and find a job elsewhere. Live by the sword....

We all would have loved it to work out. It hasn't.

Libba and Bont are nice blokes too. Don't they deserve to enjoy the work they do?

I don't know how much we're paying for our great reserved seats, but they are going to waste now. Have missed about the last 3 home games as I went through the deflation and hopelessness earlier/midway through the season. I would have gone to Richmond game had we won yesterday, but no interest now. Plenty of other things to do with my time. Don't have family or friends to go to footy with, so no incentive there.

Seriously considering dropping the seats next year as it's just a waste of money. Will retain membership & social club. That's it.
I’m going next week to watch the game against Richmond after swearing I wouldn’t attend another game this year after the loss to Port Adelaide where unfortunately I embarrassed myself with how angry I got when that horrible shepherding decision was paid that overturned Weightman’s goal and then Port ran it down field and kicked a goal. The umpiring that night was so bad I swore I wouldn’t go again. But my two daughters want to go (one supports Richmond and the other is a Doggies fan) and so taking the advice on here I’ll be going but with zero expectations and try to just enjoy the time with my daughters. It’s not worth getting this angry anymore and while the club leaders don’t seem to give a shit anymore and the Board are just content with the garbage coaching that we have now, I figure why should I care so much. I would rather keep my sanity and if we win it’s a bonus, but until Bevo is gone I’m not really going to care too much anymore. I’m done with him as coach.

Keep an eye out on the next game day thread.

Do you reakon bevo reads big footy threads do ya? 🤣🤣🤣

Better everyone let's off steam in the thread than biff him going up the race on gameday or leaving a box of hearts at the doors of the WO

I thought Stevie J's take was better especially his "Ugle-Hagan is not in his prime Kane (Toad)"

A lot of "journalistic" licence from the toad. Ugle Hagan is in his prime and Daniel is one of our running half backs.

Ugle Hagan is playing excellent footy. Caleb Daniel has played half back for most of his career. It's not totally inaccurate. All but one of our star players are well and truly in their prime or past it. There aren't many on whom we are waiting to reach their potential; this is it.

But CD is not playing hb, is not a running hb as such and is a former AA halfback (3 yrs ago) and Marra not at his peak. Pretty sure he reiterated both factual inaccuries twice.

If his take has merit, why introduce factual innaccuracies and then dbl down on them. To add quantity to his arguments to make up for the lack of quality hoping no-one will notice the inaccuracy? Rhetorical question.

🤔 And why am I wasting my time talking about this fool. Dear Dog, what have I become.

JUH is playing well except for the most important part of the game for a forward.

We have a chronic list clogger problem at the end of our list, but I think some overstate the problems in an attempt to clear Bev - who essentially rules over that aspect anyway. I think it should be remembered that top 4 was the expectation going in, and I think that was reasonable - and made to look more so by Melbourne not being that strong this year.

Liam Jones, Richards, Dale, JJ are more than fine would belong in a top 4 level backline. The rest of them are well below but we’re not totally bereft in that area. I expect Cleary to become a very good player over the next couple of years too, he looked more composed in hot contests on sat than all of our experienced guys. we’ve been unlucky and had some injuries here, but honestly, our defensive lapses are ground-wide and teams are going end to end pathetically easily (like all of last year).

We have the #1 ruck in the comp. With Bont and Libba we have 2 top 10 mids. Treloar, Caleb and Macrae are all pretty good too. The issues there are more to do with how poorly they set up defensively.

Cody, Naughts, Marra are all individually very talented but have to make it work in a mess of a system.

We have holes for sure - small forward, wings, backline. But the comp is not that strong of late, no dynasty level teams.

We have to can the vfl foot soldiers we’ve amassed and bring in some genuine young talent, and patch a couple of holes, but we have some genuine talent in all areas, that are ready to win now.

IMO last year should have put bevo on very thin ice and this was about the worst possible way to back that year up.

Either he goes or there is a clean out assistants.
I hope we look for some fresh ideas from some young, progressive assistants.
I know that this has been said before, but I feel better for typing it :tearsofjoy:
The inability to change or react in game when its getting away from us is infuriating

Nah, they would be too much of a threat.

Wonder if Steven King would be a good choice as senior coach, already knows the group and its strengths/ weaknesses or would an entirely new voice with no connection to the group be the go ?

I think what Steven King said on radio this morning is very accurate. Bevo is not a good match day coach, and the reason coaches like Scott and co smile. He is a very good motivator, as evidenced by the way he got them up on the way to two grand finals.

Yep and there’s only so long that will work with the same group, I have no doubt Bev would be a great target for a rebuilding side, WCE etc should have a big crack at him. He’s no longer the guy to take THIS football club forward though, of that I’m sure.

Bevo would also be good for the Gold Coast suns
